Chapter 6 : Testing Grounds - Part 2

On a snowy night.....

''I am terrified by that dark thing....", a young girl said shakingly and with an unclear voice. She clung on to Geto's outfits. One hand pointing towards a distant house.

Suguru Geto was around the age of twelve. He used to go on errands in search of cursed spirits. Not the strong ones. But....

His parents had accepted the fact that Geto can see the unseen (cursed spirits).
Geto took advantage of it. He would sneak out, without parents' permission. Also they were fine as long as he returns home safely.

After several errands, this time Geto's routes crossed with a vengeful cursed spirit - Kuchisake onna.

'If the difference in grade is two levels or more, I can absorb a cursed spirit with practically no conditions attached'. Thoughts started crossing Geto's mind.

''Else, I will have to kill it", Geto said quietly as he gazed at the girl beside him.

He kneeled before her and asked,'' Sorry, did I scare you?"
She nodded. Geto then asked,''Are you with anyone? Like mother or father?"
She pointed a finger in the same direction as before.
Geto took a look at the child's torn and bloody little dress and asked,''Are you hurt".
She nodded in response.
Geto sighed. ''See that house there." Said Geto by pointing a finger at a lit up house.
''Go there, I will try not to overdo it". He then smiled and got on his feet.

Training grounds

(Present day)

''Cursed Spirit Manipulation" Geto started demonstrating his CT. ''This technique allows me to allows me to consume and then control vagabond cursed spirits."

Geto opened a portal and summoned two one eyed cursed spirits.
They were not of a powerful grade, but Geto was just starting with it....

Using a new portal Geto summoned a new cursed spirit.

''Its' got wings!" Shoko remarked with excitement.

This time Geto summoned a flying cursed spirits, with an appearance similar to an aquatic sting - ray.

Yaga and the students, even though they had no idea, were enjoying whatever Geto was upto.

Geto with a casual smile on his face and hands in the pocket, spread his legs over the cursed spirit and got onto it.

The curse raised the altitude, while Geto balanced himself on top of it.

Yaga observed that Geto had not got rid of the one eyed curses he summoned before.
Geto could summon multiple curses in his arsenal, at the same time.

The flying curse now did an upside down posture in air. Geto had not lost any grip, even though his hands are still inside the pocket.

Suddenly Geto seem to fall on his own to the ground.

The spectators were a terrified.

''Watch out...." Gojo worried.

Geto landed on a huge cursed spirit , docile two eyes, eight legs and horns big enough to support and carry a full grown human.

Geto raised his face and with an alright-smile said,''I'm fine".

''You moron. Don't be careless", Gojo cried loud.

Geto giggled.

''How many of them do you have in your reserve", Yaga enquired.

Geto gave it a thought and replied,'' There is no limit to how much I can absorb".

''You decide to battle using these weaklings?", Yaga asked.

''I can extract the curse technique of semi-grade 1 and above cursed spirits I  absorb", Geto continued,''Thus I am skilled with an immense arsenal of potential different moves."

''However the CT you absorb ceases to grow the moment you absorb them", Yaga explained,''Give and Take- in order to gain something, you have to loss something"

Geto gave a affiliative smile and said,'' Don't underestimate me as a shikigami user".

''No one here is underestimating you, Geto," Yaga concluded ,''you'll grow in your own way."

It was Gojo's turn next. Geto took his place between the spectators.

Gojo walks to the grounds.

Utahime's eyes were fixated on the tall teenager. So many secrets lying beneath that blue eyes.
Is he going to unravel it all?
What's this feeling?
Why do these images cross my mind?
