"Did we have homework last night?" Keefe's words were followed closely by him as he slid beside her on the bench.

"Does it matter? You wouldn't have done it anyway."

"Good point." Keefe leaned in to kiss her, disappointed when she scooted away at the last second. Her lame excuse was to read a paragraph of her history textbook, which lay sprawled across one of the many tables littering study hall.

"Don't tell me you're ashamed," he teased.

"I'm not."

"Then let me kiss you."

"With this many people watching?" Sophie lifted a pair of big brown eyes to inspect the sea of students.

"Aw, c'mon. They're not even looking."

Sophie sighed, turning to give him a quick peck on the lips before returning to her book. "Good enough?"

As she pulled away, his mind was already swimming with dreams of a future kiss. "For now."
