"Hey! Choi, new girl!" Jungkook says as he shoves the girls arm off the table. MinJi's head slams into the table and she wakes up abruptly. She raises her head from the table and turns to face the stupid boy who had caused the new lump forming on her forehead.

"What do you want?" She asks with annoyance as her eyes glare knives into the boys skull.

"Just because you put your phone on vibrate doesn't mean that it doesn't make noise. It's been vibrating in your backpack nonstop and if you don't turn it off I swear I will throw it out this damn window!" Jungkook yells while giving Minji a menacing glare. Her phone had been vibrating in the same rhythm for what felt like hours and it had begun to irritate him.

MinJi rolls her eyes in response and grabs for her cell phone from her backpack as everyone, including the teacher, stares at her in an appalled expression.

"My father keeps calling me", she says out loud so everyone can hear. She answers the phone call as the teacher starts to walk over to her desk with furrowed eyebrows- showing his displeasure of the situation.

"Dad, I'm at school. Couldn't you have called me later? Or did you forget that I have work to do? Not everything is about yourself FATHER. Just because you got what you wanted doesn't mean you can just call me whenever you feel like it. I have a life TOO", Minji says into the phone with anger.

The teacher finally walks over to MinJi's seat and extends his hand in front of her so that she can hand over her cell phone. She sighs and reluctantly hands him her device.

Before she can tell the teacher anythung, he puts the phone on speaker so that the entire class can hear. She begins to get angry at the teachers gesture and she huffs an annoyed sigh. The teacher gives her an upset look and states, "no cell phones during class". But apparently her father didn't hear the teacher om the other end because he continued to talk as if his daughter was still listening.

"Listen MinJi... I didn't call you for my selfish reasons... It's your mom... She's..."

{MinJi's POV}

"Listen MinJi... I didn't call you for my selfish reasons... It's your mom... She's..." My dad says almost choking on his words. I stand up immediately from my chair and snatch my phone from the teachers hands. I quickly click the end button and walk over towards Jungkook to which he sits in front of a medium sized window.

"Move", I say expressionless and I try to take deep breathes to hold in my emotions. I can't have anyone see me tear up now... I just hold it in.

Jungkook looks up at me with a raised eyebrow and follows my request by sliding his chair back. The space in front of the window is now empty and I step forward, taking my flip phone and snapping it in half. I take a long glance out the window before throwing it- the tears that I had been trying to hold back already threatening to fall.

I know what my father was talking about, and I hate to admit it to myself... but my mom, my own mother, is gone... I just- I didn't think that she would be gone so soon. I knew that she wouldn't last any longer with the condition she was in but, she's finally resting in peace, I guess.

I'm happy yet sad and hurt at the same time- I'm happy because she's now resting peacefully and no longer suffering, but I'm hurt because, well, she's gone. I can never see her smiling face ever again. I can never hear the words, "I love you MinJi, have a good day at school" or "welcome home sweety! I hope your day was better then yesterday! Want to talk about what happened?" I can never feel her touch as she hugged me each and every day. I can never eat her cooking or listen to her humming as she washed the dishes with such care and tenderness.

All of them, they're all gone...

And the worst part is- is that I never got to say goodbye..

"Hey, Choi, are you alright", my teacher asks as I feel his hand on my shoulder. I shrug his hand off and turn around with eyes still teary. The class continues to stare at me as I walk back to the seat next to Jungkook and I can feel my self esteem growing smaller in the process with all the stares I'm receiving. I sit down and say loud enough for everyone to hear, "sorry for the interruption. You can continue with the lesson now." With a single nod from the teacher, he walks away from our desk and continues to talk about today's lesson as if nothing had just happened only moments ago.
