Dr. Wilson looked at the book before he looked at me, smiling sheepishly. He cleared his throat before he shifted in his seat. "I won't be able to see anything until you say that I can."

I blinked and blinked again, confused because I had no idea what he meant.

Dr. Wilson chuckled and dipped his head. "Write in the book that you allow me to see it," he said and gestured to the book, "then I will be able to see what you are talking about."

I hesitated but nodded and cleared my throat. "Will you be able to help?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, and he shrugged.

"I'll try," he replied. "Let me see it before I let you know."

I pressed my lips into a thin line before I nodded again. "Ok," I said before I turned the book toward me again, not knowing how to do it.

The picture disappeared and was replaced with the words, you can write it here and say that you allow him to see it, it said.

I breathed a sigh of relief, happy that the book knew what I was thinking. Ok, I said and bit my lip. I give Dr. Anthony Wilson permission to see the picture so that he can help me.

The words disappeared and was replaced with, granted. You may turn the book back toward him, and I will make sure that the picture is there.

The words disappeared again before the picture appeared again.

"Well?" Dr. Wilson asked and raised an eyebrow. "Will the book allow me to?"

I nodded in confirmation before I licked my lips and turned the book toward him again. "This," I said. "This is what I saw when I drew Ethan with Dr. Weiner."

Dr. Wilson looked at the picture and a wave of emotions ran across his face, and his eyes grew wide. He looked at me and then at the picture again, his mind going a mile a minute.

I shifted in my seat and looked at him, nervously. My heart pounded hard in my chest, and my mouth went dry because I didn't understand why he looked like that. "Dr. Wilson?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "What is it? What is he?"

Dr. Wilson shook his head and moved a hand across his face before he cleared his throat. "It is something that I hoped wouldn't find a way to cross over from Ilyrian to here," he said slowly before he shook his head and cleared his throat again. "However, I should have known that we wouldn't be lucky."

Lucas flew to the book and landed beside it. He looked at the picture before he puffed up and looked at Dr. Wilson before he looked at me, saying something to the wizard, and the doctor shook his head while he stayed silent.

I furrowed my brows and cocked my head, confused. "What is it?" I asked. "What do you mean and what did he say?"

"Lucas is wondering why I hadn't noticed it when you two were "together," and it is because this place's magic isn't as strong as it is on Ilyrian. They are able to mask themselves easier here than there even from powerful wizards like myself." He gestured to the book.

I looked at the image before I looked at him, staying silent, waiting for him to explain further.

Dr. Wilson cleared his throat and shifted in his seat. "My powers are tied to Ilyrian and the old magic that resides there," he said. "I can transfer the magic from there to here, but it isn't as strong as someone else's."

I furrowed my brows and ducked my head closer to my chest. "Like Sernea's?" I asked and looked at him, and Dr. Wilson smiled and shook his head.

"Serena isn't human," he said. "She is much more powerful than what you think, and unfortunately, I am not able to tell you what she is."

My heart sank, and I dipped my head closer to my chest. "Oh," I said, solemnly, and Dr. Wilson cleared his throat before he took my hand in his and squeezed it reassuringly.

"You will know what she is," he promised, "especially since you will be talking to your father here shortly."

I bit back a sigh before I slowly nodded. "Ok," I said before I cleared my throat and leaned against my seat. "Now, what is he?" I asked, changing the subject and looking at the book.

Dr. Wilson cleared his throat and grew serious before he gestured to the picture. "So, Ethan is called a Sharlorn," he said, and I raised an eyebrow. "They are shadow creatures that are able to control people and make them bend to their will."

I stayed silent while I waited for him to continue, and he cleared his throat again and shifted in his seat.

"Sharlorns are able to transform into humans or animals. Sometimes they will travel as an animal but as shadows. They have prey that they hunt, and unfortunately, you are one of them."

I sighed before I slowly nodded pursed my lips. "I know," I said. I pursed my lips while I dipped my head closer to my chest, thinking of something. "Did he find me through the picture that I created near Dr. Weiner?" I asked.

Dr. Wilson slowly nodded and frowned. "I am afraid so," he said before he cleared his throat. "I do not know how, but I am afraid so."
