Vi x OC
---
We catch our breath for a second before a man whistles sharply, making us look at him and two other women.
He stands in front of Vi as the women circle me. He puffs out a breath and flicks Vi's hair.
"Nice jacket."
She punches the guy square in the face while I hit the other two girls unconscious and we take some stuff. A whole outfit from one girl so Caitlyn doesn't have to wear a uniform, the jacket from the man for Vi and the leather belt/corset thing from the other girl for me.
We hear crashing and then distant panting from the top of the alley and we smirk at each other, knowing who it was. We walk up to her and throw the clothes at her.
"Welcome to the Lanes."
"You almost got me killed."
"Our younger siblings could do that when they were seven. All us fissure folk can."
"Don't you want to blend in?"
We walk out of the alley and down the street a few steps so that Caitlyn has some privacy. And when she walks back out we nod slightly before moving on.
We walk through the streets, Caitlyn staying close to us. Walking through a neon town, we see something we recognise.
A wooden, moving sign showing a knife cutting the head of what seems to be a fish. Walking closer we see this place hasn't changed. It was still as popular as ever, served the same foods and even looked the same. With carcasses hanging along railings and heads on cutting boards all over the shop. At the back was Jericho, cutting the meat and preparing meals, just like he used to.
We walk up, take a seat and order food. When it arrives, me and Vi eat like it's our last meal.
"Oh, Jericho! Have I missed these." Vi exclaims as he laughs with us. We keep eating as he cooks for other people.
Caitlyn looks at everything with slight disgust, trying to act discreet about the situation. Vi offers her some food with a hum but Caitlyn turns it down.
"Oh, you're missing out, Sunshine." I say between bites.
Caitlyn grabs her hood and pulls it infront of her face slightly, turning to us. "Are you going to question him?"
"About what?"
"The meat?"
Me and Vi question looking from her to eachother before nodding with a slight chuckle.
"Definitely not above board."
"Silco." Caitlyn exclaims, looking at us in disbelief. "His connections? Isn't that why we are here?"
We stop eating and look to Caitlyn, dead-pan expressions on our faces.
"We're here because we're hungry." I say, it was a change to the slop that we've gotten used to.
"Do you know what prison food is like?"
"No! Of course you don't."
Caitlyn seethes slightly in her chair before standing up frustratedly.
"Unbelievable. I didn't break you out of jail to eat... slop. I knew this was a terrible idea. You don't actually know anything, do you?"
We finish our bowls, bringing the dish to our lips and drinking the grease and broth left. I wipe the corners of my mouth slightly while Vi uses her whole arm to wipe her face.
"Mm. Better than I remember."
Jericho approaches us and stacks our bowls, taking them from us. He puts down a clothe infront of Vi and she lifts up the corner. It shows a symbol, a symbol for a place all the secrets are spilled. I smirk and both me and Vi glance back to Caitlyn.
We get up and walk away, Vi putting the clothe in her inside pocket. I reach for her hand, which she gladly accepts as she nudges her hip to mine, Caitlyn walking close behind, noticing our behaviour.
"So... what are you two?"
"People, why?" I answer. I know what she means, I'm just funny.
"I mean to eachother?"
"We know what you mean, she's just sarcastic. We're girlfriends. Why?" Vi answered as we walked though stalls and market places, I can tell Caitlyn in interested as she walks past each stall, eyeing them.
"I don't know. You just seem close, I wondered is all."
"Well, we're dating. Have been for 5 years, though we knew we liked eachother for 2 years before that."
"Oh? How's that?"
"We told eachother."
"Why not start the relationship then?"
"We were 14. We decided to wait to see if we still liked eachother then and when that didn't go away, we thought it never would. That's when we got together."
"All whilst you were in jail?"
"Not all of it."
"So you knew eachother before you went to jail?"
"Yes. Very well in fact."
Someone brushes past Vi's shoulder as we walk. Vi sticks her middle finger up at them before continuing up a short staircase.
"We're almost here."
