Something both Wade and Ember hope they can protect.

Alan mever thought that he would be an Uncle

Jade stared at the sparking water in the jug and decided to ask for some.

"What is that?" She asked, tilting her head to the side.

Wade and Brook looked at the jug of sparkling orange juice and then Brook gave her a glass of orange juice.

She sipped it and smacked her hard lips.

"This is good." She smiled.

*KNOCK*

Brook looked at the door and dusted herself. Hmm. Maybe it's her.

She walked towards the door and opened it.

To reveal Dewey's sister.

Monique was rough water. She was close with all of her family. And was close to Brook. Having named her firstborn daughter Brooke after her. Adding a E at the end to tell two brooks in their family apart.

But she was rough water.

"Hello, Brook." She said, smiling.

Lake did their best not to roll their eyes as they looked at their Aunt. Monique wasn't the best woman. She was no angel in anyone's eyes.

So how did she manage to grab a husband?

Lake themselves along with their siblings were on friendly terms with their cousin Brooke. But they all agreed, at least in private, that Monique is..

Respectfully, an evil shrew.

Posideon knows how her reaction to little Jade would be.

As Lake had come to know and expected. Jade was just an innocent child brought into the cold dark world due to their idiot brother knocking up someone that he shouldn't have even been able to knock up.

In anyone's view. Jade simply had no fault. Her parents were the ones at fault.

"So.. what is this mysterious Grandniece you wanted to introduce me to?" Monqiue asked, sitting down on the couch with the rest of the family.

Brook smiled and then gestured to the little black girl with purple and blue creases. As soon as Monique laid eyes on the little girl her mouth dropped.

"She's no..."

"Water." Wade finished for her, his tone was firm. If she starts anything he swore to sweet baby Triton.

Monique nodded, intrigued. She studied her for a bit. Trying to understand how in the world could a mixed element even exist. And especially between fire and water.

She turned her attention to the rest of the family, not even giving Jade another passing glance, who was too busy looking at Harold's painting to even care. Thank the gods.

"So.. Aunt Monqiue, how's Brooke? And her husband?" Lake asked, trying to keep the rather rocky waters calm.

Monique suddenly brightened.

"Oh! Why Brooke and dear Neptune are alright. Her pregnancy is going fine as well." The 50 year old smiled.

Lake nodded. And the rest of the family was delighted to hear so.

Ember scooted closer to her child. Having issues on trusting Wade's Aunt. For the way she had behaved so coldly to Jade.

Wade also noticed this. He turned to his mom to meet him in the kitchen.

Lake was keeping everyone busy whilst Wade and Brook snuck out to the kitchen.

"Mom, why is Aunt Monique here?" He asked, unhappy.

"She said she was coming. She wanted to meet Jade." Brook explained.

Wade shook his head as Jade was too busy reacting to something Marco told her. And she was the most precious thing that Wade and Brook had ever seen. Such an innocence anyone could have the right to protect.

"Mom, I swear, if she starts something with my daughter..."

"Wade! You have to come here!"

Wade got a hold of himself and then sighed, taking a deep breath, he went out into the living room and then noticed Jade splash Marco and Polo. He smiled, and noticed Mika and Jade had come to create this shiny light.

Ember glanced at Wade's aunt, not having the trust in that woman.

Alan was also starting to notice this and then raised his eyebrow.

Y'all actin' like this woman didn't just try to drag a waterway through Fire Town.

Monique had a gaze that said it all. And how did Brook not see it? If the Ripple siblings could then why couldn't she?

Years ago, Monique, being the head of waterworks, had tried to break a waterway through Fire Town. She had apologized and all. But with the way that she glanced at Jade. It wasn't at all on soft terms.

"Jade and I went to a Waveball game." Wade spoke up.

Monique nodded. She didn't have a care for sports. Despite her brother and father both being ones to enjoy sports.

Ember glanced at the four kids playing together. They were so welcome to each other. And so warm to each other. Accepting each other. She smiles, feeling great.

Wade had a hard time realizing that Jade was his. She was his. She was HIS! And that was enough for him. The paternity test they did was enough evidence for anyone.

He just hoped his Aunt could see it the same way.

Okay, maybes Monique is just more mad at Jade being born out of wedlock but she still kinda elemetalist. Lowkey.
