"Why don't you and Ellie just sit in the back with us?" Teddy typed into her AAC app.
"That means one of us has to take Eve's spot," Ellie replied. She shivered. "What if we get murdered in our sleep?"
"Don't be ridiculous. Eve hasn't murdered anyone," Teddy responded through her AAC app.
"Yet," Ellie added. She sighed. "Maybe I could just switch seats with the person in front of you, Teddy."
"You know, I like that idea better too," Sawyer agreed. "Then I can just stay in my current seat. To be honest," Sawyer continued, lowering her voice, "my neighbor that you're going to switch with, Ellie, she's kind of intimidating..."
"Well, I hate you too," a voice came. Sawyer yelped as she turned to see Fanny set her stuff down on the desk in front of Teddy.
"Were you eavesdropping?" Ellie asked, annoyed.
"You're literally just in the row behind me, I don't even need to eavesdrop to hear you," Fanny snapped.
"I wasn't talking about you," Sawyer tried to salvage the situation.
"I hate liars." Fanny scowled. "You said one of your neighbors intimidates you. It can't be the hoarder boy next to you or the singer in front of you. And you're already talking to Dora and her friends, so you must mean me."
"Listen, I'm sorry," Sawyer whimpered softly.
"Whatever," Fanny scoffed. "Now, what's this about Ellie switching seats with me? Is that even allowed?"
"Professor X never said anything about these seats being assigned," Ellie explained.
"I guess that's true," Fanny admitted.
"So will you trade seats?" Sawyer asked hopefully.
"I hate it but I guess I have to," Fanny said, rolling her eyes as she picked her stuff back up. "I don't want a neighbor who talks behind my back, after all."
"I'm sorry," Sawyer apologized again, but Fanny had already moved towards Ellie's old spot.
"...I'll go get my stuff from my spot," Ellie muttered, moving to do as she said.
As Ellie did so, the other person who sat next to Sawyer, Claude, or "hoarder boy" as Fanny so tactfully put it, walked into the room.
"Are we moving seats?" he asked in his heavily accented voice, confused.
"Only if you want," Teddy replied using her AAC App.
Teddy followed Claude's eyes as he glanced at his other seat neighbor, David, as well as Eve, who sat behind David. "I want to," he replied.
Unfortunately for him, it seemed nobody wished to switch seats.
Aside from Professor X expressing slight confusion at Fanny and Ellie switching seats, the lesson went on without anything of note really happening. Professor X explained that while he was the
Literature and Art teacher, Literature was his main priority. Thus they would teach Literature on four out of five days of the school week, while teaching Art on Wednesdays like today. Like yesterday, Professor X stuck to the basics, which served as a review. Teddy knew all of this stuff, but she listened anyway since she loved drawing.
As the class ended, the four girls said goodbye to their Professor and moved on to the locker rooms to get ready for gym class. Teddy made sure to give Professor X a warm smile as well, to thank them for letting Leah and Teddy use his classroom yesterday.
Much like the bathrooms, there were three different locker rooms; one for males, one for females, and a gender neutral one, probably for any nonbinary students. For all the faults this school had when it comes to handling of budget, it at least did its best to be accepting and accommodating to all.
Gym class also went by without anything of significance occurring, aside from the coach seeming a bit disappointed by everyone's throws.
"We did good, though," Teddy complained through her AAC app. "Why does he look so disappointed?"
"Talia had gym last period," Sawyer whispered.
"So?" Ellie asked.
"Talia's really great at throwing things. People often say she has good aim," Sawyer explained. "She even won a trophy for it once."
Does the coach really have to make his disappointment so obvious though? Teddy thought, a bit disgruntled.
The rest of gym class went by smoothly, and soon it was time for the next class, math. That normally wouldn't be so bad, but the teacher was Professor Four. Fortunately, Teddy remembered to bring her noise canceling headphones with her to school.
The four girls settled into the back of the classroom, where they usually sat while Professor Four watched from the front of the classroom. After a while, about a minute before the class started, when all the students settled into their seats, they heard the door open.
The conversations around the room hushed down as everyone stared at the door. In came the upperclassman that Teddy remembered had appeared during study hall on her first day of school.
As he walked to the front of the classroom by where Professor Four was, Professor Four cleared their throat and announced, "This is Don, my teacher's assistant and your upperclassman."
Author's Note: Sorry that this chapter took so long to be published. Spring quarter was busy. In fact, it was so busy that when it was finally summer, I said, "No, I don't want to do any more work. I want time to relax and catch up on all the YouTube videos that I didn't get to watch during the quarter!"
And so I procrastinated. Sorry.
Also, note, originally, I didn't want to specify the dates for this, and just specify the day of the week and the general time of year. This is because I wanted this to be a fanfiction that could take place in any school year that the reader is currently in and unfortunately, the correlation between dates and days of the week change each year. However, I soon found that this would be impossible because there are certain holidays and events that happen on certain dates and I need to keep track of them. Also, I can't drop keeping track of the days of the week either, since they are very important within a school setting. So I'm going off of the 2024-2025 school year dates (which is the upcoming school year as of the time I am writing this). If you are reading this far off into the future, then please just ignore the fact that the days of the weeks corresponding to dates does not match up with your current school year. Also, if you perhaps see any issues this tracking of the date and day of the week has brought into this fanfiction, such as there not supposed to be any school that day, then no, no, you don't.
Also, if you notice that the drawing proportions are a bit different this chapter, I've taken to a new technique wherein I first draw the actual object's body first in my draft and then draw the humanization on top. I use the object's body as a guide for the torso of the humanization. Hopefully, this will make the proportions align more with their canon counterparts. Of course, this also allows on my own memory of the objects' proportions since my drafts are on paper and the digitalization is merely the finalization process, so I can't just import BFB/TPOT assets and use those as guides.
Anyway, that's all, sorry that this chapter took so long to release.
