It's been a month since they had that little chat that I overheard I was waiting on her To say something
I went to work. Not asking Chad for rides or anything.
I walked to Kaitlyn then too work. It was thanksgiving and we were suppose to be busy today.
My manager finally moved me up to a waitress. I was pulling a double today from 6 too 12. Which was open to close
I should have enough money to buy us a motel until I can make more money .
I came into work ready for the day and too get it over with.
My belly got in the way of things but it didn't stop me from doing my job.
Chad practically begged us to come to him and his family for thanksgiving.
I didn't want to go anywhere I didn't belong.
I ran back in forth like a slave for these people. I was so confused and tired
10 oclock hit and it died down a bit
" Hello. My name is Jade, and I'll be your waitress. What can I get you to drink? " I asked looking up from my notepad.
I saw 4 guys sitting at the table. That I knew too well.
" I knew I recognized you! " They said looking at me as they laughed
" Who's the hobo that knocked you up huh?!. Your Dad?. No wait. The guy that your mom use to date! " he said busting out laughing
I rolled my eyes " Your drinks? " I asked looking at my notepad.
" You aren't talking that shit. You were talking after graduation " One said as he mugged me
" Do y'all want drinks or not?! " I asked with attitude.
" We want a different waitress." they said looking at me
I walked away and got them a different waitress
I served tables as they said something each time I walked by there table.
I carried drinks by as one stuck there foot out and I tripped and fell onto my knees
" What the hell! " my manager said looking at me
" I'm sorry sir. They tripped me! " I said looking over towards them..

" Clean this up. And don't take anymore table. Do your drop and then leave " he said walking away
I followed him
" sir. You have to believe me. They tripped me " I said
" Shut up and go back to doing your job! " he said looking at me
" May I please stay?. I need the money" I said looking at him
He pushed me against the wall and grabbed me by my throat.
" I'm not in the mood. Do as I say and then leave! " he said slamming me back
I stood there in shock. He cannot handle me that way!. What makes him think he can treat me any differently then how he treats the other girls.
I done as he asked and then I walked out of the restaurant.
My back began hurting me.
I went to picked up Kade as I pushed him in a stroller since he was too big to pack now.
I saw a car following me as I walked back to Chads house.
I already knew who it was.
Kade was sleeping and I didn't want any problems.
" Hey bitch!. Where do you think your going? " they said as they walked up to me.
I didn't say anything. I just kept walking.
He tried to take the stroller and I fought back. He punched me directly in my mouth and I held my busted lip
" Now answer my question! " he said looking at me
" Back home " I said as I reached for the stroller but he moved it away
" where do you live? " he asked looking at me
" why does it matter huh?! " I said looking at him.
" Cause I asked! Don't question me! " he said wrapping his hand around the back of my neck and squeezing it.
I hollered as It brought me down to my knees
They saw a car roll past " Police! ' one said
" We will finish this later " he said winking at me
I got up and pushed the stroller back home .
I made almost $300 dollars tonight .
Chad waited up for us as he sat on the couch
" How was work? " he asked as he got up from his seat
" Fine, " I said taking Kade out of his stroller
" I got him " Chad said picking him up and carrying him to our room
" I have some money for you. For letting us stay here, I really appreciate it but we're moving out pretty soon " I said looking at him
" No you aren't " he said looking at me
" Yes we are. You don't think I heard what y'all were saying about us?. Like I said I'm grateful " I said
He looked at me and then walked out slamming the door.
Kade woke up crying and looked at me.
" I'm here hun " I said as I laid down beside him.
