"I'll tell you what's happening. You forgot to set your alarm clock." The Doctor spat. "It's volcano day."

Just as he spoke, an alarm rang out, louder than anything they'd ever heard before. Rose questioned. "What's that?"

  "The all clear." Jack clarified.

  "No more bombs." EJ added.

The Doctor shook his head. "I wish."

He ran so far ahead of the others, that they lost him. Jack brought up the rear, but even with that added speed, they couldn't see him. It was stressful, especially as they called out to find him.

"Mr Spock?"

EJ rolled his eyes. "Doctor!"

"Doctor?" Rose reiterated, only louder.

They ran past a set of stairs, to where they presumed he would be, until they heard him call out to them. "You got a blaster?"

As a group, they doubled back to see the Doctor's head peaking over the top of the banisters. Jack grinned. "Sure."

They followed the Doctor up the staircases, only to stop at an iron door. It looked like something straight out of a horror movie, which made EJ shiver far more than the reality of it all. He knew doors like these. His father's lab had doors like these, to keep them in, and his mother out.

It felt odd to be on the other side of it now, because he never dreamed he would be able to get out. He was the youngest, the last test subject. Doors like these needed to stay in the past.

"The night your space junk landed, someone was hurt." The Doctor said, this time it wasn't a dig at Jack. "This is where they were taken."

  Rose asked, hurried. "What happened?"

"Let's find out." He nodded. "Get it open."

Jack relished the moment to show off just how flashy he was, and took the blaster from his jacket. He even laughed, unaware that the others were hardly paying him any attention. "What's wrong with your sonic screwdriver?" Rose whispered.

  The Doctor shrugged. "Nothing."

"You're rubbish." EJ could hardly contain a smile.

They watched as Jack used his blaster to dematerialise a square from the door where the handle was supposed to be. It swung open with a loud creak as nothing was left to hold it in place.

"Sonic blaster." The Doctor listed. "51st Century. Weapon factories of Villengard."

Jack raised an eyebrow curiously. "You've been to the factories?"

"Once." He took the sonic blaster in his own hands.

"Well, they're gone now." Jack sighed. "Destroyed. Main reactor went critical- vaporised the lot."

"Like I said." The Doctor grinned as he handed back the weapon, uninterested. "Once."

EJ laughed, loudly. "Wow."

"There's a banana grove there now. I like bananas. Bananas are good."

He moved on without a care for if the others were following him because they weren't. Instead, Rose and Jack were blocking the doorway, and EJ had to listen to the god-awful flirting. Inwardly, he was groaning, wishing to be almost anywhere else.

Rose smiled at him, mocking impressed. "Nice blast pattern."

  Jack smirked. "Digital."

"Squareness gun." She nodded; it was painfully awkward.
