In an ideal world, I would've said 'yes' to Adam and we would've loved happily ever after, but this wasn't an ideal world and I wasn't an ideal person. I don't understand what he expected me to say, but I don't know how anyone could've expected 'yes' to actually be an answer.
"Do you think we could go out sometime, just as friends?"
"I'm sorry, Adam, but there is no such thing as 'just friends' in this industry." I replied, sounding rather rude, but it was better than ruining my career.
"Call me Calvin. Only my friends call me Adam." He snapped. I got up and walked to the elevator to go to my apartment.
"You know one day, after you have an established career, you'll thank me for not ruining it, Calvin." I got up hastily and walked to the elevator, which luckily was incredibly fast, which often made me feel sick, and it took me in faster than you could say 'never going to happen'. I could not believe he was so snarky like that. The old Adam - sorry, Calvin - would have never done that. He would've understood that this was how the world worked and to protect myself, this was how it needed to be. I distanced myself from everyone around me for this job, but honestly, it was worth it. The elevator took me down and I walked out into the hallway. I stepped outside to realize that it wasn't snowing anymore, but the cold air still hit me like a brick. I found the nearest taxi and asked them to take me to my studio, ready to work on a new song. I had lyrics spilling into my mind and a beat drumming in my head. I couldn't wait to test this out. I payed the driver and practically leaped out of the taxi and ran into the studio. My mind was ready to burst. I went into a room and pressed the recording button before walking up to the mic. I started to sing and felt so relieved, I had been waiting for so long to let these words pour out.

'Cause, baby, now we got bad blood
You know it used to be mad love
So take a look what you've done
'Cause, baby, now we got bad blood
Hey
Now we got problems
And I don't think we can solve them
You made a really deep cut
And, baby, now we got bad blood
Hey

Did you have to do this? I was thinking that you could be trusted
Did you have to ruin what was shiny? Now it's all rusted
Did you have to hit me, where I'm weak? Baby, I couldn't breathe
And rub it in so deep, salt in the wound like you're laughing right at me

Oh, it's so sad to think about the good times, you and I

'Cause, baby, now we got bad blood
You know it used to be mad love
So take a look what you've done
'Cause, baby, now we got bad blood
Hey
Now we got problems
And I don't think we can solve them
You made a really deep cut
And, baby, now we got bad blood
Hey

Did you think we'd be fine? Still got scars on my back from your knife
So don't think it's in the past, these kinda wounds they last and they last.
now did you think it all through? All these things will catch up to you
And time can heal but this won't, so if you're coming my way, just don't

Oh, it's so sad to think about the good times, you and I

'Cause, baby, now we got bad blood
You know it used to be mad love
So take a look what you've done
'Cause, baby, now we got bad blood
Hey
Now we got problems
And I don't think we can solve them
You made a really deep cut
And, baby, now we got bad blood
Hey

Band-aids don't fix bullet holes
You say sorry just for show
If you live like that, you live with ghosts
Band-aids don't fix bullet holes
You say sorry just for show
If you live like that you live with ghosts
If you love like that blood runs cold

'Cause, baby, now we got bad blood
You know it used to be mad love (mad love)
So take a look what you've done
'Cause, baby, now we got bad blood
Hey
Now we got problems
And I don't think we can solve them (think we can solve them)
You made a really deep cut
And, baby, now we got bad blood
(Hey)
