For that, I thank you...

Old friend.

The metal of Benzo's sign squeaked as we wait to be taken

The metal of Benzo's sign squeaked as we wait to be taken. Footsteps approach and we stood from where we were sat.

But when the door opened, in walked Vander and Benzo.

"Vander?" Vi asked.

He sighed and walked in more. "We don't have much time."

"How did you find us?" I asked but he didn't give a direct answer.

"I'm proud of you both. Always have been." Vander said with Benzo nodding behind him, looking at me with sad eyes.

"I'm sorry, I. This is the only way to protect the others." Vi said solemnly.

"Vander!" Benzo warned, looking out the window.

"You've got a good heart. Don't ever loose it. No matter how the world tries to break you." Vander advised Vi, holding her head in his hands.

Benzo walked up to me. "You're a good kid. Don't let anyone ruin that for you. Please." He pulled me in for a tight but quick hug and I reciprocated quickly, before he pulled away.

I walked to Vi's side as Vander said one last thing and he grabbed the two of us and pushed us into an empty store room, and he locked the door.

"Vander! Let us out this isn't right!" Vi shouted as she banged on the door, trying to get out.

"Vi there's no use. You're going to hurt yourself, stop it."

I could hear the enforcers outside. Marcus tried to push through to us but Vander stopped him and I knew he was handing himself in and not us. It wasn't right but, I've been locked down here before. Granted on accident but, we aren't getting out of here until the door gets unlocked from the outside. With the key Vander has.

"Vander no! You can't do this." I hated her pleads but, like I said, we're not getting out for a while.

"Brandy..." I looked to her worried face and she let me try to plea.

"Ok. Benzo! Open the door please! This can't happen please!" I started to punch at the door but with no luck, as expected. It was worth a try.

Outside, we heard a man scream. On the window a shadow passed quickly and we went to look.

"What's happening?"

An enforcer stood, pointing their gun aimlessly infront of them. And as quick as we saw them, they were replaced with red. The blood splattered all across the green window giving the room a red hue.

We gasped, eyes wide and stood hand in hand, squeezing them for comfort.

I could hear muffled voices of the people we knew all too well.

"What the devil..." Benzo picked up something from the floor.

"No." Vander said shakily.

Footsteps came forward from our right and we tried harder to hear the conversation.

"Silco? You animal! Go crawl back form whatever hole you came out of!" Benzo yelled, seemingly approaching the man called Silco to our right.

"Benzo, stay back!"

"You never did know when to walk away." A slightly raspy but expressive voice came from Silco.

And as Benzo went to attack, something got there before him, killing him with one fatal blow. Vander screamed for him and we cried. We cried hard for the man who raised me and for the man who helped raise Vi. The man who was always there when he could be.

"What the hell have you done? This wasn't the deal!" Marcus screamed at Silco, the corrupted bastard.

"Deals changed." And the sound of money followed.

I suppose Marcus was right. There is a crime behind every coin down here. But now Piltover has contributed to that.

The thing that killed Benzo walked up to Vander, knocking him out in one punch. We screamed for him, we collapsed on the floor crying into eachothers arms and we rocked gently, before Vi screamed  and lurched forward. But then I held her, and she held me.

About 10 minutes later, the lock rattled and the door opened. And in walked a wide eyed Ekko. I immediately jumped up from my place and ran to hug him.

"Oh Ekko."

Vi got up and joined our hug, Ekko broke down and cried harshly into our arms.

"I saw everything." He sobbed. "Be.. Benzo, they..."

"Easy little man, we know, shh. It's ok, we're gonna be ok." I calmed him knowing Vi would ask questions and that he would need to be calm.

"What about Vander?"

"They took him." He sniffled lightly against my shirt.

"Where?"

"Where?"
