Chapter 9: Hold Me Close

(Y/N)'s POV

I focused my attention on the one who was standing just below us that we were trying to avoid beforehand, Vanessa, I can't help but feel intimidated as I watched her unable to pry my eyes away as I watched her every movement.

I unconsciously held my breath which was no problem since well.. I'm not exactly alive. Although it still didn't fell nice just like as if I were to fall.

I paid no attention to anything Moon was doing at the moment or even that I was sitting in his lap, huddled against him like my undead life would depend on it.

I would normally be embarrassed instantly but I couldn't focus, my mind went foggy and I failed to notice anything else around me as if everything disappeared and all I could think was; we shouldn't.. no.. we couldn't get found. Not now.

Moon's POV

I had made sure I was balanced on the ceiling poles in a good spot that we would most likely not be found that I could balance myself on but I had to keep (Y/N) against me so they wouldn't fall off the thin pole.

I tried to make sure they were ok but before they could answer Vanessa came in, rude..

I sighed under my breath, making my eyes glow dimmer so we'd be less susceptible to being caught, and watched as she walked around below us shining that stupid flashlight that hardly did anything and frankly hurt my eyes.

I was thinking, why has Sun been so uncharacteristically quiet? It's so strange and bazzar. Although I don't mind the silence it's a little too quiet for comfort. He may be sleeping at the moment which is fine because if he was awake he'd definitely be teasing me like crazy.

My train of thought broke when I felt (Y/N) tighten their grip on me. It surprised me for a moment as I quickly moved my gaze onto their smaller form.

Their (E/C) with filled with so many emotions at once, it was hard to tell what was going through their mind but they didn't seem to notice as they were closer to me than before.

I followed their gaze to see that they had been firmly fixed on Vanessa. Were they- were they worried? That's kinda cute..

WAIT WHAT- I shouldn't think this. I sighed to myself hoping Sun can't hear me right now.

I slowly and carefully wrapped my arms around their their waist bringing them closer to me as to not startle them but to try and calm them at the same time.

Their eyes quickly moved and made contact with mine, they opened their mouth to say something but I quickly put my finger to my mouth then theirs quickly making them close their mouth realizing the situation we're in.

I held my finger their for a bit as they looked anywhere but at me, i watched them as my censors detected they were getting warmer in the face? Wait.. are they blushing?

At the thought I heard my internal fans kick on signifying that I took was- warm in the face. I slowly took my finger off their lips as I looked down and watched Vanessa a bit more as seconds felt like hours. She soon left as quickly as she came and I finally slumped my shoulders slightly glad that it was over for now.

I heard a sign come from (Y/N) as a look of relief came over their features.

But something I wished wouldn't happen took hold.. the light's turned on and in and instant I felt myself quickly going back into the mind space.

(Y/N)'s POV

I was surprised when the lights suddenly came on and I felt Moon wrap his arms tightly around me as he transformed and they switched places.

I shut my eyes tightly not wanting to see this but the lights also hurt my eyes momentarily as we had been in the dark for a while.

"OH MY SUNSHINE ARE YOU ALRIGHT!?" Sun shouted suddenly making me flinch as I quickly opened my eyes and put my hands over his painted smile.

He seemed shocked, surprised even. I didn't hardly notice because I was busy searching the ground with my eyes. I sighed a bit as I was reassured we weren't being watched.

My eyes met Sun's for a moment before the situation and position we were in hit me like a train.

I quickly recoiled myself back, taking my hands off him and making sure I wasn't as close.

I felt all my blood rush into my face as I had already known my face was probably giving away that I was flustered. "Sorry Sunny! I didn't realize that I was so close and-" I quickly said jumbling my words together out of sheer embarrassment.

I would give anything to disappear in that moment "hey, hey- Sunshine it's ok, breathe" he stated in a calmer tone. I slowly breathed in and out calming down more.

"Moon it's not like that-.." he spoke under his breath, I couldn't help but laugh a bit. I put my hand over my mouth to contain it but it didn't help and Sun definitely noticed.

He tilted his head to the side and looked at my with surprise, he wasn't expecting me to laugh and especially not when he was talking to Moon when he was saying some.. questionable things.

"Sorry, I know I shouldn't laugh but it's too funny- what's Moon saying?-" My voice had been slightly muffled and broken up due to my hand over my mouth and the laughter that filled my lungs.

Sun joined a bit on the laughter before he said "Trust me you don't want to know- LANGUAGE MOON!" I smiled slightly.

I looked around for a bit as Sun also looked around "Sooo.. what are we doing up here?" He spoke seemingly confused. "Ah- uh- Moon will probably tell you later, the real question is how are we gonna get down?" My tone also laced with confusion.

"Well...." Sun started to speak as he raised his hand and messed with one of his sun rays. I raised one of my eyebrows at him, "We are getting down.. aren't we?" I questioned hoping that we weren't just stuck up here. Sun nervously laughed, uh oh.. what's going through that head of theirs?
