Reethu POV:

Taking a deep breath, I ran to bowl the first ball. The ball hit the stumps, and I couldn't contain my joy.

"Yes!" I exclaimed as my teammates congratulated me, offering high-fives and pats on the back.

"The first batsman dismissed at the first ball of the first over, Team ASU 0 for 1," Jake's voice echoed through the stadium as the crowd erupted in cheers.

The game progressed smoothly, with another wicket falling in the first over. Team ASU finished with 234 runs, having lost 10 wickets. Now, our team had to score 235 runs to win.

As an opener, I geared up with my friend Rahul for the chase.

"Ah, here they are, our JNU openers," Max announced.

Shubman's POV:

"I didn't know Reethu played so well," Shubman exclaimed, impressed. "You never saw the trophies and medals in her room, did you?" Ishan teased, nudging him.

"I did. I thought those were academic stuff," Shubman admitted, earning a playful slap on the head from Ishan.

"They're all cricket awards. Now, watch the game. She's on strike," Ishan instructed, turning his attention back to the match.

The first ball was bowled, and Reethu smashed it for a four, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

I saw her and the other guy fist bump before heading back to their positions. The next ball was bowled, and she did a sweep shot, sending it for a six.

The match continued, with Reethu playing exceptionally well, along with the entire team. Currently, the score was 227, and the team needed 8 more runs to win. A guy named Santhosh was on strike, with Reethu at the non-striker's end. The ball was bowled, and despite having a clear shot, Santhosh hesitated, opting for just a single run.

"2 balls, 6 runs. Is it possible?" Jake's voice filled the air.

"It's Reethu yaar. Anything is possible," Ishan remarked confidently.

The ball was bowled, and Santhosh went for a shot, sending it flying for a six.

"JNU's captain, Reethu Charan, does it again, finishing it off in style," Jake's voice boomed through the stadium as everyone erupted in applause.

Shubman watched with pride as Reethu celebrated with her teammates, eventually being awarded the player of the match for her outstanding performance.

"Told ya. She's a star," Ishan remarked proudly, clapping.

"Yeah," Shubman trailed off, feeling a surge of admiration for his to be- fiancee.

Third POV

Later, as they returned home, Shubman's phone rang. It was Reethu.

"Did I disturb you?" her voice echoed through the phone, making Shubman smile.

"No, absolutely not. I just woke up though," he chuckled.

"I saw you play. It was amazing!" he laughed, hearing the excitement in her voice.

"Yeah, thanks. Oh, by the way, did you come to the game or something? Because this interviewer dude asked me if my fiance was here," she ranted.

"What? No," Shubman laughed, sipping his coffee. "How is that possible? I was watching it on YouTube with Ishan and Abhay," he explained.

"Oh, but nobody knows that I have a fiance at all. Well, like the college people don't know," she mumbled.

"Mhmm," Shubman hummed, contemplating whether to reveal the truth.

"Dude, just tell her. It would make her happier," his subconscious spoke.

"I was actually there," he confessed.

"You were? So you actually watched it live, as in from the stands?" she exclaimed, and he

could sense her smile through the phone.

"Yeah, you were wonderful out there," he praised. "Thanks, for both coming to watch me play and saying that. It means a lot," she replied sincerely.

"You should have probably become a cricketer," he teased, enjoying their banter.

"Oh, come on, not you too," she laughed, and Shubman joined in, feeling content knowing he had witnessed her shine on the field.

Shubman couldn't help but tease Reethu a bit more, enjoying the playful banter between them.

"You know, watching you play cricket today made me realize how lucky I am to have a girlfriend who's not just beautiful but also incredibly talented," Shubman said, his voice laced with admiration.

Reethu couldn't help but blush at Shubman's words, feeling a warm sensation spread across her cheeks. "Stop it, Shubman, you're embarrassing me," she replied, trying to play it cool despite the butterflies fluttering in her stomach.

"But it's true, Reethu. You looked absolutely stunning out there on the field, like a true champion," Shubman continued, his tone sincere yet playful.

Reethu let out a nervous laugh, feeling her heart race at Shubman's sweet words. "Thank you, Shubman. You always know how to make me smile," she said, her voice soft with affection.

"Just speaking the truth, sweetheart. After all, it's not every day I get to brag about having the most talented cricketer as my girlfriend or may I say future wife," Shubman replied, a hint of flirtation in his voice.

Reethu's cheeks turned an even deeper shade of red at Shubman's playful compliment, her heart skipping a beat at the endearing nickname he used. "Okay, okay, enough flattery for one day," she said, trying to hide her growing smile.

"Fine, fine. But just know that I'll always be your number one fan, cheering you on from the sidelines," Shubman said, his voice filled with genuine admiration and love.

Reethu felt a surge of warmth fill her chest at Shubman's words, grateful to have such a supportive and loving partner by her side. "And I'll always be grateful to have you in my life, Shubman. You mean the world to me," she replied, her voice filled with emotion.

With their hearts full and their bond stronger than ever, Shubman and Reethu shared a sweet moment of connection over the phone, cherishing the love they had for each other.
