The divination commission has hired a new jade abacus engineer to maintain their Matrix of Prescience, a new maintainer. As a reward for doing a great first job, Fu Xuan decides to give him a divination, but the divination goes awry as the vision it...
「 XX Day of XX Month of XXXX Star Year -- [Maintainer's Log]
After I had made up with Fu Xuan NEET ver. and we officially became friends, she collapsed into my arms, her body burning up. Her back was drenched in sweat, her shirt hugging the firm muscles of her tiny back. Her breathing was ragged and rough.
I tried checking her temperature with my forehead, but she kept pushing back and struggling against me even though she was obviously sick, saying something like, "W- Wait! My heart's not ready for this!" or "A- At least let me brush my teeth first!"
Unfortunately for her however, her arms were weakened from the fatigue, so it didn't take long for me to confirm my suspicions: she had fever, a dangerously high one. In a panic, I carried her in my arms and gently walked into her office, trying to find a place to set her down and nurse her.
Once I went inside, it was abundantly clear what caused her cold. As if the bags under her eyes weren't apparent enough, she'd been working on all the commission's paperwork by herself the past few days without any sleep and little to eat.
As of my writing, I've already laid Fu into a futon, tucked her in and have a cold towel on her head. I offered to wipe her down but she refused no matter what I said, even threatening my life...
The sun has begun rising and I've already sent for Qingque and the Healer Lady Bail- 」
"Maintainer~"
A finger was poking into my side, interrupting me from writing my log. I ignore it.
poke poke "Maintainer~~~!"
But the poking didn't stop. Now you might be wondering why I'm ignoring a sick person in need. Here's why:
Yes, Fu?

"Pet me~"
Yes, for these past couple hours, I've been reduced from the great maintainer of the Matrix of Prescience to Fu's personal pamperer.
"Pet me~!"
Yes yes.
My hand travels over to the top of her head, ruffling it gently back and forth as Fu purrs softly.
"Uhehehe..."
After all the tension of our moment earlier left her body, her cold caught up to her and she transformed in this bubbly, tiny little blob. I'll call her: Fu Nyan.
You're a good girl aren't you~?
"Nya~ "
It's hard to believe that this is the master diviner of Divination Commission. Well, Fu Nyan is certainly adorable as well, in a different way.
I carefully remove the towel from her forehead, wringing it out, and dipping it back into the bowl of ice water as I slowly bring it back over to her. She stretched out her little arms to hold my hands as she guided it to her forehead.
"Wah~ It's cowlld!!"
I felt a sharp pain in my chest as this creature's sheer cuteness pierced my heart. I won't last any longer!
Knock knock knock "Fu? Maintainer? "
My savior has come!
Coming!
I rush to the door, swinging it open.
Qingque, thanks for coming so early.
Qingque was at the front door of the office, a bag in each hand.
"No problem. The Healer Lady is still out of town, but she pointed me to some medicines in the clinic I could take. Oh and I brought some snacks too!"
She walked inside, cautiously at first as if watching out for some kind of danger, but once she set her eyes upon the bedridden Fu Nyan however, she breathed a sigh of relief, a little smirk growing on her face.
"Diviner Fu! Are you okay~?"
Qingque's voice was monotone, her question coming off disingenuous, an obvious attempt at teasing out a funny answer from the Fu Nyan.
"I'm okei~~ hehe, maintainer is with me after all~"
"Tch."
Qingque frowned in irritation, and gave up her attempts at teasing the Fu Nyan right then and there. She knelt down next to her, and began bringing out the medicines.
I walk up to her and kneel down next to her as well.
"...So? How did it go?"
She inquired as she fed Fu Nyan her medicine, the spoon prying its way into her mouth. Qingque's gaze didn't leave Fu.
It went well. We decided to start over again, or at least have a new start as friends.
"Hmm~ Good for you."
Qingque's eyes were glazed as she watched Fu Nyan nibble on the spoon.
...Is something wrong?
"Not much. Just a little sad that we'll be playing Celestial Jade a lot less, since you'll be with Fu more often."
Fu's probably busy during our breaks, so I doubt it.
"Yeah, I guess so..."
The room returned to silence, the only sound remaining being Fu Nyan's loud breathing, which quickly turned into a soft snore as she dozed back to sleep.
I think I'll have a quick nap as well, do you mind?
"No. I guess I'll read or something while watching over Fu then."
Thanks.
I had completely forgotten how tired I was, having stayed up the whole night nursing Fu. Having the extra help come by was so much of a relief that I could feel my body slouch from the exhaustion that caught up to me.
I laid on top of the couch, and felt my consciousness start to drift right away, despite not having a blanket or a pillow.
My mind barely registered it, but I heard Qingque shuffle up next to me,
