MAKENZIE'S POV

"are you ready for your final gift" Addi said while we waited for Clay to 'set' everything up in the room

"wait you know what it is?" 

"yeah its been in the plans for a little bit now" she replied

"he better not be proposing because we haven't even been dating for a whole year yet and I'm no where ready for that and I swear to god that if he's even thinking that I'm ready I'm no where close-"

"Mak. don't worry. as far as I know he isn't" Addi stoped my rambling 

"plus it wouldn't change anything because you two already act like a old married couple so take a chill pill" she added on

it's not like I don't see a future with Clay but it's just that with everything going on right now in my live, it's not fair for him to have to deal with me. I need to get my life fully sorted and set before I even think about doing anything related to marriage. my only wish is that Clay's willing to stick around to see.

"okay were ready" Soph said walking out after helping Clay

"go in" Addi said 

as I was walking in I saw that the room had not changed which made me confused

"whats going on" i said looking at Clay. he grabbed my hands

"I know that you have been struggling a bit lately with losing the restaurant job and all but-"

"if you're trying to give me pity money i'm not accepting it Clay. you know how I feel about taking your money-" I tried to stop him but failed

"-but I hope that this might help" he stoped me and continued from before I interrupted him

"your scarring me Clay"

"Makenzie will you do me the honour and-" he stopped trying to joke around knowing that I was stressing myself out. I punched him in the arm jokingly

"move in with me"

"you dickhead" he laughed

"you basically live here anyways so why not just stay here"

"do I really want to permanently deal with you and Nick screaming your ass's off at 3am. the apartment is like my quiet zone"

"heyyy I don't do that. thats only Nick when he's pissed at kids on valorant"

"wow way to throw me under the bus" Nick said poking his head into the room.

"shut up Nick nobody asked" Clay yelled out

"I told them to leave. clearly someone didn't listen" he added as he looked away from the door and back at me while I smiled

"I don't know Clay it's as bit early don't you think" I said 

"I mean not really but if you still want your plac-"

"I'm joking Clay. yeah I can move in." I said to him knowing he was thinking I hated the idea of staying with him

"and you called me the dickhead" he smiled and shook his head 

"the apartment is never being used anyways so it might as well go to someone that will actually live in it"

"plus we all know the real reason is not because you think I'm struggling with money but because you really just love me so much that you don't want me away in a different house" I added on

"shhh we don't speak about that" he joked

"so thats an official yes?" he asked

"yes Clay" I smiled. he leant down and kissed me

"also did i tell you that George is also moving in next month" he said after breaking the kiss

"way to tell me that after I already agreed"

"planned out perfectly. no take backs. your stuck with me"

"as long as you're there I'm okay with dealing with George no matter how annoying he can be at times" I smiled and hugged into his chest

"this is going to be so fun" he said quietly

"yeah" I replied

"so did you like your birthday" Clay asked me. Soph and Addi had left after the final gift clay gave me because they both had things to do tomorrow for work. Nick I think was streaming but he honestly might just be chilling on discord with George. Clay and I were just cuddling in his bed talking about life

"yeah. it was the best" I said looking up at him from his chest as he looked down to me

"I'm happy for you and happy everything actually worked out the way it did"

"we didn't need to do everything even if it didn't go how you planned" I said 

"I would of loved today even if it was just me you and our friends together" I added 

"what so your saying all the gifts I gave you mean nothing" he sarcastically said 

"yup" he looked shocked but played to the bit and pushed me off of him and faced the other side putting his back towards me

"if it means nothing then I mean nothing so I'm not talking to you"

"oh cmon Clay. you know I was joking" I said going over to him and rubbing his back. he just scooted over more 

"Clay?" I originally thought he was joking about ignoring me but I'm not sure now

"okay fine I leave you alone" I went back to my side of the bed and put my back towards his back. about 2 seconds later I felt the bed quickly move and next thing I know is Clay's flipping me over and peppering kisses all over me

"wha-"

"I was joking. I don't mean that. I know you're not a gifts type of person" I punched him in the arm as he thought it was funny that he made me think he was mad at me

"the abuse" he sarcastically made a shocked face

"you deserved it. and what do you mean 'gifts kind of person'"

"you're more of the 'I love Clay type of person" he smirked

"also the gift part was a lie to let you know. I do like the gifts I got today" I ignored his previous comment knowing it will only fuel his ego

"good because they took months to plan" he said going back to lying on his back. I followed and laid on his chest.

"whats with you tonight and being an idiot of a joker" I asked since he's normally not like this

"I guess you just bring the best out the best of me"

"thats not the best of you"

"oh yeah what is" he smirked

"your an idiot. but if your wondering, patches is the best part about you"

"we all know what you wanted to say" he closed his eyes and smiled

"maybe moving in was a bad idea" I joked

"you basically already moved in months ago so you cant speak. plus you love me so thats an automatic that you love living with me"

"oh I just remembered that you never streamed today-"

"sh sh quiet I'm trying to sleep" I said really not wanting to bring up the topic
