"I remember the day we first moved here." Emily reminisces.

(Flashback)

Clifford had grown to big for us to live in the city anymore. So we packed up everything and headed for Birdwell Island. Emily is sitting on their couch with Clifford sitting beside her, riding the ferry.

"I can't wait to get there Clifford. There'll be lots of room to play and we'll make lots of friends." The ferry zooms across the water, and Clifford barks in excitement. Finally the ferry approaches the pier where two men are heading towards them. Clifford is laying down where they can't see him.

"Welcome to Birdwell Island." The shorter man with the yellow hat waves.

"Thanks." Mark Howard says, hugging his wife, Caroline, close to him.

"My name is Pedro. And this is my good friend Victor." The taller man greets after opening the doors to the ferry.

"We're the Howards. I'm Mark and this is my wife Caroline."

"Hello there." Caroline waves. Emily Elizabeth appears jumping on a crate.

"And I'm Emily Elizabeth." She points to herself.

"Well hello Emily Elizabeth." Victor says amused.

"And this is Clifford, My Big Red Dog." Emily Elizabeth gestures to Clifford with her arms. The two look behind her and up to see a giant red dog.

"Ruff. Ruff." Clifford greets panting. Both men are startled.

"Oh hello Clifford." Victor says nervously while Pedro shakes.

"Ruff. Ruff. Ruff. Ruff." Clifford says excited. Both men jump a little and Pedro hides behind Victor who then hides behind Pedro.

"Come on everyone. Let's go see our new house." Mark speaks. The family and Clifford walk onwards.

"Bye Bye." Caroline says to the two men.

"See ya." Emily says holding her mother's hand.

Pedro waves as they walk away from the two. "Nice family."

"Big dog." Victor says worriedly.

"And a very big dog." Pedro starts.

"Can be a very big problem." Victor finishes.

(Present)

Rose frowns at this. "They really thought Clifford as gonna be a big problem." She shakes her head at this.

"They sure did." Ria states.

"But they didn't even know him." Rose is shocked.

"Sometimes someone decides how they feel about someone before they get to know them." Emily tells them. Ria nods in agreement.

"That's not fair. Clifford seems like a great dog." Rose frowns.

"I know. But back then Victor and Pedro weren't the only one who thought Clifford as gonna be a big problem." Emily says petting Clifford.

The Howard's neighbor, Mr. Horace Bleakman is in his yard watering his roses with a hose. His wife, Mrs. Violet Bleakman approaches him with a cake on a platter.
