"So this is your room. Dad said he hasn't gotten around to getting you a new comforter so you can sleep in my bed until he does." Monse explained.

"Ok." Raquelle nodded as she looked around the room. It was a lot smaller than her last one but she could make do.

"Come on, let's go to my room and catch up." Raquelle followed the girl to her room and the both sat down on the bed.

"So, what made you want to come to freeridge?" Monse asked.

"Well, funny thing is, I didn't. I had some behavior back home with my mom and she said I was getting to be too much for her. So, she sent me here." Raquelle explained.

"I wasn't happy at first but now that I have a sister, I've become more optimistic towards this whole situation."

"It's still so crazy that I have a sister. I really only grew up around boys so I've never really had that female bond." Monse sighed.

"If you don't mind me asking, where's your mom?" Raquelle asked, immediately regretting the question after seeing Monse's face. "I'm sorry, nevermind that question."

She waved her hands quickly causing Monse to let out a giggle. "No, it's fine. I want us to be close and... it feels good to open up about this."

Monse grabbed both of her sister's hands. "Um, my mom left when I was little. I guess she didn't want me. And even though I didn't really know her, I still miss her."

Raquelle poked her bottom lip out, a habit she did when she was about to cry. "I'm sorry that happened." She pulled her in for a quick hug before wiping her face.

"It's ok though. You know why?" Raquelle smiled. "Why?" Monse asked.

"Because your sister's here now and we're gonna do all of the girly stuff that you missed out on. Starting with the nail salon, let's go."

She stood up quickly before pulling Monse up next. "Dad!" Raquelle yelled as they left the room.

"Yes, honey?" He turned to look at her, dropping the last bag in the room.

"Can me and my beautiful sister get some money to go to the nail salon?" She asked with her hand held out.

"Sure." Monty reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. He placed a fifty dollar bill in her hand.

Raquelle cleared her throat and gave her father a look. "This ain't enough, sir."

He chuckled and placed another fifty in her hand. "We're almost there. Just a little bit more."

Monty sighed but put a twenty dollar bill in her hand. "That's all I'm giving." He closed up his wallet and put it back in his pocket.

"Ok, let's go Monse."

"I know this girl that works at a nail shop. We can go there." Monse said as they walk out the door.

Raquelle nodded and followed Monse as she led the way to the nail salons.

It wasn't far. Only about a ten minute walk. The girls used that time to catch up some more.
