Start from the beginning

Preethi stared at the notification for a solid moment, then opened it hurriedly and then fumed.

Rishi averted eyes and said, "Oh boi... what did he text you?"

"Hey"

"Hey?"

"HEY! How dare he?!"

"Uhm.. Preethi?"

"Two days of radio silence. Hundreds of texts and calls. He responds to nothing and now he sends me a hey?!" Preethi's voice rose in anger.

"Well" Rishi was trying to soothe the situation.

"Oh no... no you son of bitch!" Preethi paid him no mind and read her texts out loud as she was typing them.

"^DON'T HEY ME! Where are you? Are you okay? Why the hell didn't you respond?^"

Then another ping, "^I am okay. I am at base zero. I am sorry.^"

"Base zero?" Preethi muttered to herself.. "What is that? No actually where is that? What does he mean?"

"^What do you mean?^"

{UNREAD}

"^Where is that?^"

{UNREAD}

"^Veera?^"

{UNREAD}

"^VEERA?!!!^"

{UNREAD}

Preethi then let out a long exhale and slowly, in almost whisper, said, "he stopped responding."

Rishi face palmed. Almost! "Preethi..."

"AGAIN! THIS SON O-"

"Preethi... Do you know where base zero is?" Rishi asked in one go.

"No." She looked down and then immediately perked up, "Althaf might."

Rishi only heard one side of the conversation... It went something like this...

"Do you know where base zero is?" (No hey, no hello)

"Veera told me!"

"No, he texted me... he is apparently there."

"Well, he told me he is. Check aga-"

(Then she smirked.)

"I told you!!!"

"Oh that's sad.. at least I got a hey! Yeah I'm so gonna kill him!"

And then she fluttered out, (rude.) Rishi wasn't worried tho, because from the moment veera had texted back, preethi glowed with palpable relief. She was angry, which came out of worry, but even beneath that was barely hidden happiness. Her splitting smile was enough proof.
