Fluff Joshua x Reader

"Lazying around again, sweetheart? "

As you were almost falling asleep, the sudden voice, albeit not loud, startled you. You raised your head in panic, but once you fully registered the voice, you relaxed instantly. You would recognize this voice anywhere, it was Joshua's.

After all, the place where you were right now was you two's secret place in the UG, and no other player knew about it. Technically, you should have never been able to access it, though you were not a player, and being in a relationship with the composer gave you certain advent ages. Not that you were with Joshua for advantages, no. You loved him with all your heart, and you had no doubt that he did too. After all, didn't he keep saying that you were one of the only humans that had ever captured his eyes? The other one was Neku, but even there, Neku had not as much importance as you did.

He holds you in a very special place in his heart. You gave him hope for humanity, you were the one that made him realize that maybe humans aren't as useless and feeble as he imagined. And even more important, you were the first one to accept him as he was. When you met him back in the RG, you were instantly attracted to him. He was extremely reluctant at first and mostly behaved in a coldly judgmental and quizzical way. He did not have to best of memories of his time in the RG, before becoming the Composer.

But as time went on, he warmed up to you, and your relationship evolved into you two becoming close friends. At some point, he told you his secret. That he could come and go in between two plans of reality, about the UG, etc... And even if he would never admit it, he was scared, terrified of your reaction. He expected you to run away calling him a freak, or to laugh at him in mockery. But your reaction surprised him, for you did not run, no. You walked up to him and took his hands in yours, a compassionate smile on your face. "I believe you, Joshua." You had said fondly.

From this point onward you two got closer, and you ended up dating each other. He proposed to take you to the UG so that you could see for yourself how it was. At first, you were hesitant, you knew that an average human being had to die in order to access this plan, but he was quick to reassure you, and promised you that you wouldn't have to die. Truth be told, he wasn't sure that it was in his powers to do so, but he worked hard to find a way, and after long days, weeks, of searching, he found a solution. He did try to explain it to you, but you didn't really understand anyway, instead deciding to trust your lover. He had promised after all, and you knew that he would never hurt you no matter what.

You caught yourself lost in your memories as Joshua waved his hands before your eyes. "Now now, do not get lost in this pretty head of yours."

"Hmph, I'm not." You replied, but as he gave you a knowing look, you surrendered.
"Alright, alright, yes I am. I'm just a bit tired of running around, you know the drill. Work had been hard on me those days."

"Already tired~? I thought you had more stamina than that." He teased smiling. Then walked up to you and sat on the sofa. The look in his eyes spoke loud enough for you to understand what he wanted. You stood up from your spot on the ground and sat beside him. But soon your seated position morphed into a laying one, your head on his lap.

"So what if I am tired?" You slurred with a yawn. You smiled mischievously at him and snuggled into his chest, taking a comfortable position to sleep.
"Now you are trapped as my pillow until I say otherwise."

At that, Joshua chuckled and ruffled your hair with his hand, gently playing with your hair. "And I am not complaining. Now ush my love, you need to rest."

"Yes, I suppose that's true..." Muttering into his shirt, a tired smile on your face. You knew he couldn't see it, but you couldn't help but smile. Moments like this were the best, and if you could, you'd never get up from this place. You could feel his chest rising and falling as he breathed, the constant motion lulling you to sleep.

"I love you, Joshua. Always."

And before you completely fell asleep, he murmured, "I love you too."

A.N: I hope Joshua isn't too Ooc... I read his whole Wikipedia page to try and get a really good grasp of his character, but well... Anyway hope you enjoyed it!
