Friends or family? (MHO)

(I think i'm gonna put more focus into this MHO series now as the series is getting more hype then my other oneshots so, now with the realise of my hero eternity I know a lot of this timeline is out of order to what the canon would've been like but... i cba to rewrite the ENTIRE series to make it accurate so.)

Shino had started to go back to Monarch now, after the recent events it felt almost weird re-entering school life however Kiyo and Blake were also back at Monarch along with Sapphire and Jack. So it didn't feel too different, just the absence of his roommates and some close friends, wasn't ideal but Shino was beginning to feel drained by all the negativity. He just wanted things to return to normal

And that was Arti's goal, bring things back to normal. While he wasn't at school he had been making a bunch of plans for the cafe and how their friends could hang out and even suggested a few ideas to Blake for their end of year prom.

Could you believe it? They were close to finishing their first year at Monarch academy. They only had a term left, it felt like weeks ago they had just joined the school.

But despite all the effort Arti was putting in to try improve everyones moral and mental health, there was also someone he also had to put some effort into his relationship with. His mom, he had called her almost daily since getting out of hospital and she had told him she wanted to visit today.

Marie had never actually been inside the dorms, she had seen them sure but never entered and looked around. So it was exciting for Arti, he cleaned every room and crevice in the dorm to make it look presentable too.

He missed his mom while he was at hospital, she had visited a bunch and when she first saw him she cried and hugged him so tightly. Sure his mom wasn't always the best, she could be emotional and had a bit of a substance problem... but she was his mom. Arti had longed to meet her all his life and now he finally had it still felt unreal. He couldn't hate Marie, he cared about her too much, since the prison incident when Arti had accidentally realised Amare they had been really working on their bond.

Artemis looked at himself in the mirror, making sure he looked presentable but not over the top. There was finally a knock at the door, Artemis quickly opened it as Marie stud there smiling, immediately hugging Arti as soon as she saw him. "You look so much better!! I'm so glad, i've been worried sick" Marie smiled, cupping his face to study him

He giggled and let her into the dorm as he closed the door behind them "oh wow it smells gorgeous in here" she mumbled as she looked around the kitchen to the living room of their dorm. "Yeah, one of my roommates - RikKu - is obsessed with incense burners and we just can't get rid of the smell now" Arti smiled, reflecting softly on the memory of RikKu. She was still alive obviously, but it felt wrong without her.

She turned back to him quickly making him jump slightly "how have you been? A-Are you ok? Can you walk properly? Have you been eating?" Marie asked quickly, clearly concerned. Arti was taken aback slightly, Marie never often stuttered, only when she was emotional. The thought she cared made him smile "Je vais bien maman, juste un peu battu" (I'm fine mom, just a bit beat up) Artemis smiled softly which seemed to calm her

She nodded "have you been ok? Hows Monarch?" She asked, "as-tu besoin de quelque chose? souffrez-vous toujours?" (Do you need anything? Are you still in pain?) Marie continued, Arti shook his head no "Monarchs been ok... i just hope it can go back to normal. Shino's let me use his laptop to do online work while he's at school" Artemis replied

Marie seemed to be almost shocked by hearing the part about Shino. "Shino's back at school?! qui s'occupe de toi ? tu vas bien tout seul ? tu peux toujours rester chez moi si tu as besoin de quoi que ce soit mon gentil garçon, mes portes s'ouvrent toujours" (whos been looking after you? are you ok by yourself? you can always stay at mine if you need anything sweet boy, My doors always open) Marie told him which soothed his confusion.
