Ethan went quiet for a moment, watching with soft eyes as August looked at the delicate creature with adoration. The girl let the tiny red bug walk back to its home, leaving the girl to stand back up. She turned to him with a smile and bright eyes.

"You?" Her words were gentle, not pressing the boy for an answer, or accidentally hurt him.

Ethan gulped back the lump in his throat. " I-I lost my mom too. Uh, I don't really remember much. My dad and sibling still live at home."

August went silent, feeling bad for mentioning it. "That sucks. It really sucks."

Ethan nodded, the two beginning to walk again, getting closer to Augustine's home.

𝐀𝐒 𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀𝐔𝐆𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐄 turned down the road to her street, thunder in the sky rumbled above, alerting the two teens and the others who littered the streets of New York, that it was about to rain.

It was barely minutes till the rain drizzled down, droplets falling down the girls face. She grinned, looking up above. It hadn't rained in awhile and she missed the comfort of it.

However, the drizzle of rain soon turned into a downpour, immediately captivating the two teens.

"Oh, shit." Ethan cussed, eyes screwed shut for a moment, the rainwater falling to his brown orbs. August let out a squeak of amusement, eyes bright as her rosy lips tugged into a beaming smile.

August linked her hand with Ethan's, tugging him along as they ran down the sidewalk towards her home and hidden from the downpour.

Somehow without slipping, the duo got the lawn of her home. August giggled as she
stepped under the roof over the front porch. The blonde took of Anika's hat, that she had forgotten about, and placed it on the chair beside the doorway.

Ethan got under the shelter, ruffling up his hair to try and dry it even a little bit.

"Holy shit." August breathy laughed, wiping the wet hair away from her face. You could hear the pitter of the rain grow heavier, thunder rumbling above.

Ethan grinned, looking to the blonde. She looked beautiful, ethereal. Every thought from his head vanished. All sanity left her soul. They had only met momentarily ago.

August had just gone upstairs to cry, only to meet someone she felt an instant connection with. She really hoped that maybe something more would happen between them.

The duo fell stuck in time, brown eyes locked on one another. August swore she could feel butterflies swarm the pit of her stomach. Heat rising to her cheeks, maroon enhancing her splattered freckles that looked like stars sprinkled through the night sky.

The girl looked away first, clearing her throat as she looked down, stepping back. A comfortable, yet, awkward tension rested between them. Things unsaid lingered in the air between them.

"I, uh..." Ethan voiced, rubbing the back of his neck. "I should get getting."

August nodded. "Thanks, for, um, walking me home." She smiled. "It was really nice to meet you, Ethan."

Ethan beamed, shyly. "Yeah. You too, Augustine." The boy nodded, hands shoved in the pocket of his jeans as he prepared himself to go back in the rain, uncertain if he would ever see the angelic girl again.

The rain seemed to be coming down quicker, heavier, then it did moments ago. August watched as he left, but the feeling of regret engulfed her. She was vexed with herself. She liked this boy, and the chances of seeing him again were getting more minuscule by the minute.

"Ethan!"

The brown haired boy stopped, turning back to her. Eyebrows furrowed, dowsed in rain. He was confused, unnerved.

August didn't waste anytime before darting from the porch, running straight over to the boy.

August grabbed his cheeks in her hands, crashing her lips to his. Ethan was stunned at first, perplexed, but immediately melted into the kiss, hands falling to her waist.

The kiss tasted like a mix of cherries and sugary sweet alcohol.

The blonde pulled back first, breathless as she looked up to the boy that had fallen droplets of rain running down his blushed cheeks. August felt her heartbeat in her throat, a grin on her rosy lips she couldn't contain.

"Wow." Ethan gulped, still in a daze.

August bit her bottom lip, hands still on his scarlet tinted cheeks. "Yeah..." She exhaled, starstruck herself.

Ethan was enchanted by her. Bewitched. Everything about August. He was captivated by her beauty. Even more mesmerised by her. Her personality, her laugh, the way she smiles brighter then the sun and the milky way combined. August was the epitome of moonlight.

August was bewildered by the boy. She was intoxicated by him, even if she did barely know him. His eyes were pools of chocolate brown she could melt in. His smile was captivating. He was breathtaking.

They were completely and utterly and falling for each other.
