"Lab's all set up, boss." Hill said as she walked on the ship after Clint was rushed out.

"Oh, actually, he's the boss." Tony said referring to Steve. "I just pay for everything and design everything and make everyone look cooler."

"What's the word on Strucker?" Steve asked Hill walking over to her ignoring Tony.

   "NATO's got him." Hill answered.

"The two Enhanced?" Steve asked as I walked with him and Hill.

"Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. Twins. Orphaned at 10 when a shell collapsed their apartment building. Sokovia's had a rough history. It's nowhere special, but it's on the way to everywhere special." Hill explained.

    "Their abilities?" I ask.

"He's got increased metabolism and improved thermal homeostasis. Her thing is neuroelectric interfacing, telekinesis, mental manipulation." Hill says.

"And in English that means?..." I say looking as confused as Steve.

"He's fast and she's weird." Hill told us.

"Well, they're gonna show up again." Steve says as Steve and I step in the elevator.

"Agreed. File says they volunteered, for Strucker's experiments." Hill said, "It's nuts."

"Right. What kind of monster would let a German scientist experiment on them to protect their country?" Steve said.

"We're not at war, Captain." Hill shook her head.

"They are." I say as the doors shut.

Three days later the tower was filled with people and upbeat music. I wore a dress that perfectly fit me but didn't show off what I was trying to hide. I sat in a chair listening to everyone, there was Thor and Tony arguing about who's girl was more successful, Steve was talking with Sam.

"I got to have some of that." An old man said to Thor as they sat where I was.

"Oh, no, no, no, no. See this... This was aged for 1,000 years in the barrels built from the wreck of Grunhel's fleet." Thor said handing one to Steve and another glass to me after I asked. "It is not meant for moral men."

"Neither was Omaha Beach, blondie. Stop trying to scare us. Come on." The old man said.

"All right." Thor said poring him a glass.

Only a couple seconds after the man took a sip he could barely speak or stand.

I smiled as I saw Banner and Nat together at the bar.

I used to love parties but now I just feel lost.

————

"But it's a trick." Clint said. By this time almost everyone was drunk with the only exception's being me and Steve considering it is impossible. All us Avengers and a couple of the remaining people sat against chairs and couches around a table where Thor's Hammer sat in the centre.

"No, no, it's much more than that." Thor laughed.

"Ah, whoso ever be he worthy shall haveth the power." Clint said in a deep voice mocking Thor. "Whatever, man! It's a trick."

"Please, be my guest." Thor said proudly.

"Come on." Tony said.

"Really!" Clint said.

"Yeah." Tony smiled.

"Oh, this is gonna be beautiful." Steve smiled as Clint stood up and walked to the corner of the table.

"Clint, you've had a tough week. We won't hold it against you if you can't get it up." Tony said and everyone laughed.

"You know I've seen this before, right?" Clint said. He grabbed the handle with one hand and pulled but it didn't even budge. "I still don't know how you do it!" Clint laughed as he let go.

"Smell the silent judgment?" Tony asked Clint.

"Please, Stark, by all means." Clint said.

Tony stood up clearing his throat walking over the the Hammer confidently, "Never one to shrink from an honest challenge."

"Get after it." Clint said sitting down.

"It's physics." Tony said grabbing the Hammer, "Right, so, if I lift it, I then rule Asgard?"

"Yes, of course." Thor agreed.

"I will be reinstituting prima nocta." Tony grunted as he pulled and nothing moved. "I'll be right back." He left and came back with his Iron Man glove on but still nothing.

"Are you even pulling?" James Rhodes asked as he and Tony attempted to pull.

"Are you on me team?" Tony asked.

"Just represent. Pull." James Rhodes said.

"All right, let's go." Tony said and it didn't move an inch.

Banner tried after but he too failed.

"Go ahead, Steve. No pressure." Tony said as Steve stood up rolling up his sleeves.

   "Come on, Cap." Clint said.

I watch the moment Steve pulled the hammer moved ever so slightly but still moved. Thor expression instantly changed too worry at the sight of that. I watched as Steve continued to pull but it didn't move again and so he sighed letting go.

    "Nothing." Thor laughed nervously.

    "And, Widow?" Banner said.

"Oh, no, no. That's not a question I need answered." Nat turned down.

"(Y/n) you're up." Steve said as he sat back down beside me.

"All right." I say standing up.
I walked over grabbing it tightly.

    "Good luck." Tony said.

I began to pull and it felt stuck but I didn't want to give up so easily. Suddenly I almost stumbled backwards as the whole Hammer lifted above an inch off the glass table before getting stuck back down. I instantly released it, luckily everyone was too drunk or not focused enough to notice it well everyone except Thor who had a panicked expression on his face.

"Sorry." I whisper to Thor as I sit back down.

"All deference to the man Who Wouldn't Be King, but it's rigged." Tony claimed.

   "Bet your ass." Clint agreed.

"Steve, he said, a bad language word." Hill pointed out.

"Did you tell everyone about that?" Steve asked.

"The handle's imprinted, right?" Tony asked Thor who was just staring at the Hammer. "Like a security code. 'Whosoever is carrying Thor's fingerprints is, I think, the literal translation."

"Yes. It's a very, very interesting theory." Thor said standing up and effortlessly picking up the Hammer, "I have a simpler one." He said spinning it before catching it in one hand. "You're all not worthy."

Everyone booed and groaned.

"Oh, come on!" Clint smiled as we laughed.
