"Usually?" Macy repeated, letting out a breathy chuckle in affront. Her eyes sharpening at his audacity and a defensive part in her kicking in, she pushed his fingers off her hair with the back of her hand. "Tell me an example," she demanded, "I have completed every one of the stupid quests you tossed at me, sir. Some of them involved the sea!" She made a face at the arrogant taunt gracing his lips making it hard to master her annoyance. She pointed a finger at her chest, "I defeated very dangerous frauds and even freed a literal god—"
"It is amazing how you still don't consider that love retreat as a scheme, but okay," Gerard mocked under his breath, and Macy knew he was rolling his eyes behind that sunglasses.
"You weren't calling it a scheme when you were running after me to prevent me from winning the scavenger hunt and getting married to Jason," she said, shooting him a tight smirk, "symbolically."
"There hasn't been a single day I didn't call it a scheme on the Friday-Nights' part," he said, earning another exasperated eye-roll from her.
"Another mistake on your part," Macy said, pointing a finger at him and getting a tight smirk to adore his lips. "I just keep winning."
"Except for one thing," he insisted with a throaty chuckle, and Macy shifted closer to him to protest once more in an overly dramatic fashion he deserved, but apparently it was an evil trick to get her to approach him all along! Turning on his seat, he hooked a finger under her chin raising in defiance. His smirk widened dangerously at her confused gaze before he leaned in and captured her lips with his.
Caught off guard by the unexpected invasion of his mouth, she could swear that her hands traveled up on his chest without her permission, already defeated by the sensual jolt of lightning he shot through her. Her lips parted in craving for more, deepening what was supposed to be a light kiss and asking for a full-fledged war with her tongue sliding against his.
He didn't expect that.
His muscles strained under her palms traveling up on his shoulders, and his breath ragged against hers with every languish move of her tongue. She clung against him only to dangle one leg to his side and straddle him. His hand tightened on the bare skin of her waist meanwhile his other hand tangled harshly on the waves of her hair cascading down on her chest.
"Does that," she panted against his mouth, a tiny curl shaping itself on the corner of her lips as she dragged her mouth down to his throat to land on his pulse, "look like failing to you, sir?"
"It certainly adds to my point, Miss Wallace," he replied in a strained whisper, although there was a vaguely amused edge to it. He tipped his head back with the demand of her fingers against his heated skin. "In fact, I've never seen someone failing this hard."
Really?
Her hooded gaze narrowed, and she let her lips linger on his neck for a while, trying to solve what wicked scheme he was playing at the moment and already searching for a way to defeat his villainous intentions. Conquered by her curiosity, she slowly rose from his lap with her hands still pressed against his shoulders and got greeted by that dark smirk of his.
Slightly tilting his head to catch a glimpse of his gaze under his aviator sunglasses, she blinked at him a few times, torn between kissing the hell out of him again until he admitted that she won or just... yelling at him before going for option one.
"You used to find more ridiculous excuses to climb on me," he commented indifferently under his breath, causing a scandalized expression to adorn her features as he casually brushed the wave of hair off her chest. "Do you think am I easy now, or—"
"I didn't find excuses to climb on you, and I'm definitely not doing that right now," she clarified with a startled chuckle, pointing a finger down to gesture at their position. "You do something stupid, and we end up like this. It is your fault."
