It was said, during Spring Equinox, that day and night were often equal in length. Yet, the night seemed to conquer the day, stretching and prolonging as Macy paced around the master bedroom with Foxy, having broken the promise she'd given herself moments ago and looking for a specific topic that was torturing her mind.

Well, it wasn't like there was so much to do here since the villain was still absent!

So, in the last half an hour, she had taken a shower in his private bathroom to wash all the traces of the night away, invaded his dressing room, pulled a navy t-shirt out of the folded pile of fabrics on the shelves to put it on and... pulled his laptop out of the drawer to do a little research as she curled on his bed!

Yep, there was a lot of invasion of privacy going on here even for a married couple. Fake married couple, she had to add.

In her defense, which was something she kept repeating to herself, her metallic gown was completely soaked, and her phone battery had died. Besides, during their little questionable plan of living together when Zoey'd tried to poison her, he always let her use this laptop. It wasn't like she broke into his study and use the one in there, right? There was a difference.

Funny enough, that difference ceased to matter as the fact that how she hadn't stepped into this room before even when she had been staying over. It wasn't like he told her not to, but it didn't make her feel less guilty. Besides, gods, he was annoyingly so well-organized, modern, and owned the best view of blinking city lights and twinkling stars through the floor-to-the-ceiling windows on a single wall. It simply made her roll her eyes as soon as she pulled the black drapes and meet the sight. Although, the funny frustration inside her might have been caused by the familiar, abstract painting hanging on the white brick wall panel above his king-size bed. It was hard to tell.

With its bright blue and red colors, it looked out of place among the dark, modern furniture, but - yet he put it up there.

She wasn't sure what to think about that.

"Don't look at me like that," She had murmured to Foxy, who was wagging his tail in excitement and drawing circles on the bed, "We both know your dad is all about mind games."

Through her moral dilemma, she'd turned on the laptop, and her fingers had worked fast on the keyboard to get over the subject, typing the keywords on the search engine in different combinations: 'Matthias Clermont and Diane' 'Matthias Clermont Giselle Torre' 'Jeff Wallace Giselle Torre' 'Jeff Wallace Diane' 'Matthias Clermont's girlfriend' 'Diane Clermont'

Nope. The result had been nothing! There wasn't even a picture from a clickbait article that put Matthias' and Giselle's photographs next to each other. Despite his old photographs with various famous women with the articles suggesting them as dating, Matthias was still single on his Wikipedia page, not having a visible connection to Giselle's only movie, An Afternoon of Misery, as well.

The French actor was right. It was a miracle they managed to keep it concealed this long, although Macy knew how this business went. Even if someone managed to capture a picture of them, Matthias had enough influence and more than enough money to stop them from spreading. He had enough power to defy Judith Blanchard after all, of course, he could deal with a few tabloids.

So, there was that.

However, just before deleting her search history, she had managed to find out that... Gods, Bernard was kind of a terrible detective for real! Because, on Matthias' official website, there were links to other websites of his entourage of directors, actors, and charities. However, one of them stood out and led to An Afternoon with Diane, where Diane wrote blog posts about anything related to art, cinema, and literature?
