This is a spinoff of Top Gun: Maverick, taking place one year after the events of the movie. The following names are the characters within the story I've created and their corresponding callsigns. The Squadron (known as VFA-81, the Sunliners) includes 15 people plus their leader. Each of the 15 Naval Aviators are Lieutenants (LT), their squadron leader is a Commander (CDR). The planes they fly are called F-18 Super Hornets.

I have limited knowledge of how the Navy or aircraft carriers or deployments in general work, so if something doesn't seem right, maybe just imagine that it does? Because I've done research, but I'm making it up as I go.
This idea is born out of a scenario I wanted to unfold, so I'm making it happen.
