S2E10 - THE END OF SOMETHING

ANGEL STARED PAST Lila and the Handler as hundreds of assassins appeared out of thin air. Her jaw fell slightly as she stared in awe. She tightened her grip on Five's hand, not wanting to let it go anymore. She would admit it, she was scared. She glanced at her brothers for any sign of a plan; nope. The Handler was right, they were going to die today.

"So what do we do now?" Diego asked, glancing over at his siblings.

Five grimaced as he look around at all the eyes staring back at them. He was at a loss. He glanced over at Angel, watching her swallow harshly.

He cocked his head, "Well, we got two choices: fight and die now or run and die later. Either way, we're food for worms."

Diego cocked an eyebrow and glanced down at the boy, "Preference?"

"Wouldn't mind a few more minutes breathing air through the old windbags," Five nodded.

The Handler glanced down at her watch, "Okay, let's get this over with, why don't we?"

She held up a long strand of red cloth, a signal for the assassins to charge after the Hargreeves.

"Run!" Angel screamed, pulling on Five's arm.

The Handler placed a devious smirk on her face and dropped the piece of cloth. The assassins let out battle cries as they began after them. Gunshots littered the ground at Angel's feet as she charged forward. Angel yelped when she stumbled forward, catching herself with a low growl.

"We're not gonna make it!" Diego screamed.

Five latched onto both of their jackets and blinked them further up the field.

Diego retched, "Five, I think I'm gonna puke."

"No time!" Five ducked behind an abandoned tractor.

Angel gasped lowly as she peeked out from around the corner.

"Blink into the house man!"

"Shit, I'm out of fuel," Five grumbled, watching his blue light falter, "I'm too tired."

"You guys go! I'll cover for you!"

"What?" Angel screamed.

"Go!"

Angel grunted as she was forced up by Five. She glanced back, watching as Diego held his hands out, creating an invisible force field. The bullets flying through the air slowed to a stop just before they reached Diego. Five pushed Angel up the back steps to the house and through the screen door. Bullet holes pierced the walls like crazy, creating tiny minuscule windows that weren't supposed to be there. A high pitch rang in Angel's ears as she ducked beneath the table. Five curled her under his arms, covering his ears as shots continued to pierce through the air before they abruptly stopped. Angel gasped, breathing a sigh of relief. Five ushered Angel off the ground and peeped through the window. The assassins were laying on the ground dead. Angel surfed her eyes over the hundreds of bodies that now lay in the field before she landed on a small white orb in the middle.

"Shit," Five muttered.

Angel shook her head, "How is this possible?"

"I don't know," Five swallowed a lump in his throat.

Angel watched as Lila's chest shimmered white, mimicking Vanya's powers. She began to levitate in the air with her fists clenched into tight balls. Angel frowned at the sight.
