S2E8 - THE SEVEN STAGES

"NOW WHAT?" LUTHER questioned.

"Now, nothing, Luther. Make your peace with God," Five mumbled into Angel's hair.

"What? What about Allison and Vanya?"

"Screw them both," he snarled, "They should've been here."

"What about Diego?" Klaus murmured from the ground. "He's quite a responsible young man, no?"

"Something must've happened to them," Luther said.

Five adjusted his position and flipped Angel around so she could wrap her arms around his neck. "Screw Diego, all right? Screw everybody."

Angel pulled back and looked up at Five, who was looking at Luther.

"I was better off on my own in the apocalypse," Five growled.

Angel sighed and pushed Five off of her, earning a weird look from him. She shot him that told him to get over himself.

"Five, come on," Luther groaned.

"You know what, Luther?" Five pointed his finger at his brother, "It's every sibling for themself now. How bout that?"

Five tugged on Angel's hand and pulled her toward the door to Elliott's. She followed him in reluctantly. The door slammed open again as Five and Angel trudged up the stairs.

"Hey, Five. Doomsday is still coming. We gotta think of a new plan," Luther followed them up the stairs.

"Don't you get it, Luther? It's over, all right? We're already dead!"

"Then where are you going?" Luther asked.

"I'm going to do the unthinkable," Five said.

He kept pulling Angel up the flight of stairs until they got to the landing outside of Elliott's place.

"What the hell does that mean?" Angel asked, wary about what was running through his mind.

"I was really hoping it wouldn't come to this," Five opened the door to Elliott's and immediately rushed to the back room.

"Come to what?" Luther followed him in and watched as Five pulled Angel in with him and locked the door. "Come to what, Five?" Luther knocked on the door, "Five! Five!"

FIVE WANDERED INTO Elliot's kitchen, digging into his refrigerator. Five had explained to Angel what his plan was in the room, which, she thought was insane. Angel bounded out of the room and followed Five to the kitchen. She stopped by the stove, staring at him incredulously, expecting some kind of look from him. When he paid no mind, she rolled her eyes.

"Five, this is ridiculous," Angel shrugged.

He yanked open the fridge and pulled out a water bottle.

"Five?"

Angel heard Luther call out to him from the living room.

"Five?" Luther stepped into the kitchen, watching as Five gulped down ounces of water.

"I'm gonna need to be hydrated," Five said, clicking the lid to the bottle closed and putting it back in the fridge.

"Hydrated?" Luther repeated.

Five walked over to the table and picked up baby powder, sprinkling it into his shirt sleeves.

"What's with the baby powder?" Luther furrowed his eyebrows.
