Chapter 15: A Purple Crystal

Y/N's P.O.V

So, I've been following these sparkles through the icy cave.

I'm still not sure where I'm going though.

I stop when I come across three different paths.

Y/N: Uh, which way do I go?

???: Wrong question, that is.

Y/N: Look, I don't understand. I don't get it. Kanan told me I'd be tested here, but he never said what for.

???: And your Master, tell you everything, must he?

Y/N: Well, no.

???: Your path. You decide.

I close my eyes and let the force guide me.

Y/N: Straight ahead.

The sparkles go that way and I continue to follow.

(Ten minutes later)

After following the sparkling guide for awhile I find myself in this big room.

Y/N: Whoa.

???: Tell me, why must you become Jedi?

Y/N: Because Kanan believes that I can.

???: Ah, Kanan believes.

Y/N: I'd become stronger, more powerful. I'd make the Empire suffer, like they've made me suffer.

I feel the anger build in me.

Y/N: They took my family from me. If I was a Jedi I wouldn't have to feel helpless anymore.

???: Ah, Jedi way is revenge. Teach you this, your Master did?

Y/N: No! Kanan would never. He's a good Master, a great Master.

???: Then why seek revenge?

Y/N: I don't! I just wanna be able to protect myself and the people I love.

???: I sense much anger in you. Much fear.

I sigh.

Y/N: Before I met Kanan and the other's, I was alone for a long time. They took me in when I had no-one and I see what they've done for other people too.

???: And how does that make them feel?

Y/N: Alive. They feel alive, like I do now.

???: Yes! Good, good.

I look down and close my eyes.

???: Ahead of you, a difficult path, there is, Padawan. A Jedi, you may yet be.

I open my eyes and look up to see a bright purple crystal falling down to me.

The crystal then falls into my hands.

???: Chosen you, this crystal has. May the force be with you, Padawan.

Y/N: Thank you.

I look at it and smile.

(Twenty minutes later)

After leaving the temple I make it back to the Ghost.

Kanan comes out to greet me.

Kanan: So, how you feeling?

Y/N: Different, but the same.

Kanan: Yeah, I've been there.

Y/N: Oh, and I got this.

I show him the lightsaber crystal.

He smiles.
