"Okay, okay. You ready?" Natasha asked. Y/n nodded, stretching while she waited for instructions.

"Let's talk about grappling. What do you know, and what level of experience do you have with it?"

Y/n froze, a little intimidated. She knows that this is Natasha's territory, her area of expertise. "I mean... I do know how to do it. Take down an opponent, etc2. But compared to you, my experience is obviously chicken shit."

Natasha laughed, caught unaware by Y/n's statement. Y/n chuckled as well, feeling at ease around Natasha. "I mean, I'm not you or Cap, but I'll give it a try."

"That's more like it. Don't worry, I'll be gentle," Natasha smirked at Y/n, causing Y/n's cheek to heat up in response. "Show me what you got, Summers."

They got into position, Natasha waiting to see what Y/n would do. Y/n tried everything that she could remember from her training. Leg sweeps, body lock throws. She did her best despite how nervous she felt. When she was done, Y/n stepped back to take a breather.

"That's good. You got your basics down. Now, allow me to show you some of my favorite moves?" Natasha asked. Before Y/n could finish processing her question, Natasha already made her way to Y/n, sprinting and catching her off-guard. She jumped up effortlessly, wrapping her legs around Y/n's neck.

Y/n tried to wrap her arms around Natasha's hip to prevent her from getting the upper hand. Natasha slipped away easily, swiveling her body to Y/n's back, sitting on her shoulder as she applied light pressure to the sides of her neck. Y/n managed to peel Natasha off her, throwing her on the mat while she gasped for air, still confused about what happened.

Natasha rolled away, gaining her composure. "One more, Y/n. Anticipate my movement and react. Don't get too caught up with what you're doing all the time."

Y/n just shook her head at her. "Time out," Y/n coughed. "I think I need more time to practice," she tried to joke, her throat slightly raspy.

"Don't be ridiculous, Y/n. We both know that you can crush me easily if you want to. Just know that I'm not gonna make it easy for you." Natasha straightened up, smirking playfully at Y/n.

"Well, can you blame me for being nervous?! They don't call you the Black Widow for nothing. Ah, fuck it," Y/n said, running towards Natasha this time. She feinted a move, turning in the other direction as Natasha reacted. However, before Y/n could grab her, Natasha swiped her leg and used Y/n's momentum to throw her onto her back, landing with a loud thud.

Y/n could only lay on the mat in shock, the wind knocked out of her. Natasha sat on her waist to prevent her from moving, locking Y/n's hands to the side of her head. "Okay, if you say you give up, I'll let you go." Natasha grinned at Y/n, still cautious not to hurt her further.

Natasha saw a brief glint in Y/n's eyes before she felt herself thrown to her side. Y/n bucked her hips as best as she can to push Natasha off, quickly getting on top to lock Natasha's hands above her head while locking her legs in place. "No. How about you say it? Give the newbie a chance. Say you give up."

"Never." Natasha smiled, using Y/n's locking leg against her, twisting herself under Y/n until Y/n lost her balance, falling on her face while Natasha puts her in a chokehold from behind. Natasha rolled to her back while locking Y/n in place, squeezing as gently as she can as Y/n struggled to get away. After a while, Y/n tapped Natasha's arm to signal her defeat.

"Good girl," Natasha chuckled victoriously, loosening her grapple while still holding onto Y/n. If it wasn't for them practically wrestling, Y/n wouldn't know how to explain her beet-red face. "Not bad, Y/n. You almost got me. Just need to be more aware of your body's positioning around your enemy, especially when fighting in close contact or when you're in a small area. Don't expose yourself too much while you're looking for an opening."
