“I’ve found him!”
Lumine and Childe turned to Amber, who just ran into the room.
“What? Where?”
“He’s on his way from Dunyu, escorted by guardians!”
The traveller joined her an exclaimed:
“We must go there!”
“Wait, Ojou-chan.”
“What?”
She faced him, surprised by his authoritative tone.
“You can’t go now.”
“But we’ll lose him!” she cut.
“You can’t rush unprepared like this.” he continued. “If he’s surrounded by monsters you’ll risk your life.”
“But he’s my brother!”
“We need a plan first.”
“We’ll figure it out on the road.”
“Imagine it’s a trap!”
“I don’t care.”
He sighed before repeating firmly:
“You can’t go, Ojou-chan.”
“Why?”
“Because.”
“Because what?” she asked, exasperated.
“Because I like you, Ojou-chan! And I don’t want you to charge into unknown danger! I don’t want you to get hurt – or killed!”
A heavy silence fell after this exclamation. Lumine was unable to react, she didn’t know how far she could interpret his words. Of course she understood what they could imply but she was in a hurry and lacked time to handle it now. Amber was alternatively looking at the two of them, concerned and waiting to see who would resolve the situation. Eventually her friend spoke:
“Fine. We take time to prepare, but quickly. By the time we arrive he should be near the Pass.”
