I nodded and watched her walk upstairs. I took a deep breath before opening the door.
"Liah.."Jahseh tried to hug me but I took a step back
"Are you still mad at me?"He asked
Jahseh looked over seeing Xiorra laying down peacefully in her foldable crib.
"Oh..hey babygirl"He walked over to Xiorra and picked her up. He gave her small kisses on her forehead
"I missed you so much Xiorra.."He smiled as she started making baby noises
"Yeah? you miss me to? Tahaha.."Jahseh laughed hearing more baby sounds coming from Xiorra
I felt my heart shatter, cause I know what I am about to say will break his heart.
He looked at me and noticed tears falling down my face.
"Liah? what's wrong?"He asked, his once happy face was now showing concern
"I made my decision...and maybe it's the hormones talking..maybe not."I said
"What're you talking about LiLi?"He asked as he carefully placed Xiorra back in her crib.
"one thing I do know is that our relationship has been toxic for a while. Before Kentrell kidnapped me and took me to Cuba, Before you slept with someone else in Chicago.We're both sensitive people with attachment issues..and I think that we should take a break"I said
Jahseh chuckled slowly "you're joking right?"
"Jahseh I know you feel the same way you just-"
"No, I don't feel the same way...I mean I was just upset the other day, talking about co-parenting-"
"No you weren't it was your mind telling you the truth but your heart didn't want to accept it"I said
He shook his head "That's not true, Liah I love you- we're getting married remember? I c-can't lose you again..."
"You're not losing me, I'll always be here for you"I said
He clenched his jaw as tears filled his eyes. "Liah, do you love me?"He asked
I nodded "yes, of course I do"
"Then don't give up on us! Not yet...we're still young and we make mistakes but Liah we always see it through..please"He sniffed and shifted his eyes to Xiorra
I walked towards him and wrapped my arms around his torso. He immediately hugged me back "You saved me Jahseh..and I will always love you for that"I whispered
"But this is what's best for us and Xiorra...she doesn't deserve parents arguing one moment then kissing the next.." I said before breaking the hug
"Liah, you don't understand..I can't be away from you, whenever you're not in my presence you're constantly on my mind, I can't eat, I can't sleep without you beside me..I can't breathe right when you're not near...Liah, you're supposed to be my wife- I can't be with anyone else- my heart and mind won't allow it and neither will my soul!"
By now Jahseh had tears escaping his eyes, I've never seen him so emotional...I've never seen so many tears come from his eyes.
"Your name is written all over my soul, body and mind..."He mumbled
"I love you but.."I frowned and looked at the floor
Jahseh sniffed and wiped his tears. He looked over at Xiorra seeing she was falling asleep.
"Can I at least have one more night with you? It's all I ask..."He said
"Jahseh-"
"No sex, just sleep..."He said
