The last days before school went by quickly. All I did was prepare my outfits, and taking advices from mom on how not to make a fool of myself, but I doubted that I would use any of it, because all I care about is to keep a low profile. As long as I did nothing, they would leave me alone.

Social media provided enough friends already who didn't care if I was popular or beautiful enough, and I wasn't willing to risk my personality for the sake of those things.

And then all I was feeling was my stomach churning. I couldn't focus. I guess no matter how much you claimed that you didn't care you would end up in that position. I sat in mom's car, trying to ignore my surroundings and put my headphones on. It worked until we stopped in front of school.

"Okay honey stay safe,"om said in a low voice. I kissed her on her cheeks and got out of the car to face my doom.

I entered. The first floor seemed like a jungle. Clusters of people talking to each other and laughing. The fact that I didn't know anyone didn't really help my situation. I climbed the stairs, trying to find a place where less people were.

The second floor wasn't as crazy as the first and I managed to arrange my thoughts. I looked into my watch and noticed that I was thirty minutes early to class so I took the chance to explore the school.

The second floor had classes only except one huge room. The library. This was probably going to be my hideout during breaks so I decided to give it a look. I saw stacks of books at the sides and someone arranging them on the shelves.

"Hello," I called. "Do you need help with these?

A girl peeked from behind the shelves. "It is okay. I can handle it," she said in sweet voice, offering a smile. I didn't listen to her refusal because there were a lot of stacks, and where the hell was I going to go anyway?

I dropped my bag and started helping her

"Thanks." She said.

"Oh, it is nothing, " I said, realizing that she was the girl I saw in the store. We only had a brief eye contact, but who can forget those beautiful eyes?

"You are new here, aren't you?" She said, breaking me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah, my parents just moved here," I replied, not looking at her.

"I am Joanna by the way," she said, offering her hand.I never understood hand shakes and I don't like them, but she was offering her hand, and it would be awkward and rude not to shake it.

"Fiona." I replied offering my hand too.

There was a long period of silence. I just focused on arranging the books, and took the chance to see the interesting ones.

"What is your first class today, Fiona?"  Her question was abrupt, because of the silence and I stuttered for a second trying to remember then finally said, "Biology"

A smile crept its way on her face.  "Perfect, we are classmates." I smiled back then the first bell rang. "Alright let's go. The lab is on the fourth floor." I didn't say a word, instead I took my bag and followed her.

And for the rest of the day, she was my only friend. Not that that was a bad thing. At least she didn't make fun of me.

***The next couple of classes were typical. The teachers started with simple stuff and I tried to focus. I don't want to fail at the only thing I am good at.

When it was finally lunch break Joanna and I went to have a seat and I was surprised she didn't have a bunch of friends. Then it came to me that she might be alone just like me after all. She was alone in the library when the others were acting like some gypsies going to a concert.  I thought of asking her but it seemed rude.

"What is your twitter username? I need new people to stalk," I said laughing a little.I handed her my phone and started eating my tasteless sandwich. ″Now you have my twitter and my number,″ she said returning the phone to me.

"You don't seem like your account at all."

"Is that a compliment?" She said, looking straight into my eyes.

"Not a lot of people love Frank Sinatra and Metallica at the same time. Is there a genre that you don't like?" I said sarcastically.

"If you consider techno a genre, then yes."***When it was finally the time to go home I almost wanted to lay in the hallway and sleep till tomorrow but my feet somehow managed to find its way to the bus stop and luckily found an empty seat.

I went home, I took a long nap. It is strange how normal teenagers should be filled with energy and power,  I just slept like an old lady for four hours. And after that all I wanted to do was go on the internet.

My attempt to 'borrow' food from the kitchen was successful. My parents were asleep and my brother was in his room. Despite the amount of homework I had I decided to google Joanna.

There wasn't much about her on Twitter so i went to her Facebook but she doesn't post much so I watched the pictures. She had some beautiful pictures; her green eyes were strong and sharp, hair smooth and brown and softens her square jaw.

I was looking through some of the older photos when I found out that she had a couple of friends and surprisingly a girlfriend.

"Where did these people go?" I whispered to myself. I continued scrolling but I saw nothing else that was unusual. I decided to wait till tomorrow to ask her.

I closed my computer then went to rest my eyes but drifted to sleep. I blamed it on all of the Classic music I had been listening to, and the junk food that I stuffed myself with.
