“Aunt Manoban, we can’t force the matters of the heart. I’m very happy that you like me this much, but…” Krystal sounded a little disheartened.

Madam Manoban got flustered when she realized that Krystal sounded ready to give him up. “Krystal, do you… do you not like Lisa anymore? Are you preparing to give up this fight?”

Krystal kept quiet for a while before saying, “Aunt Manoban, it’s not that I want to give up, it’s that I have no choice but to do that. I thought a lot about it these few days. Lisa is already married and is happy now. I shouldn’t expect anything from him. Letting go is the best option for everyone.”

“No, Krystal…” Madam Manoban was shocked and worried. “You can’t give up. Didn’t I say I will help you figure something out?

“You’ve liked Lisa for so many years, are you really willing to let go just like that? Won’t you feel indignant?

“Listen to Aunt Manoban, this isn’t an irreversible situation yet. As long as you’re willing, Aunt Manoban will surely help you work things out. You will be with Lisa.”

“But, Aunt Manoban…”

“Just answer Aunt Manoban—do you like Lisa? Do you want to be with him?”

“This…” Krystal kept quiet for a while, then said, “Of course I like him and want to be with him. Aunt Manoban, I’ve liked him since I was a child, and my dream has always been to marry him someday. It’s just that…”

“Then, that’s it.” Madam Manoban cut her off. “Aunt Manoban watched you grow up, and I only want you as my daughter-in-law. Don’t worry, Aunt Manoban will find a way for things to happen.

“I will never allow Jennie to be my daughter-in-law.

“She’s not good enough for my son.”

Outside the room.

Lisa knocked on the door. Madam Manoban froze for a while and asked, “Who’s that.”

“Mom, it’s me. Let’s talk.”

Upon hearing his voice, Madam Manoban whispered into her cell phone, “Lisa is here, I’ll hang up first.”

Madam Manoban ended the call and walked to the door to open it.

“Mom.”

Madam Manoban still looked upset at him. “What are you here for?”

“I’ve something to talk to you about.” Lisa then paused for a while. “It’s about Jennie.”

Madam Manoban’s expression turned a little awful as she heard Jennie’s name. “What’s there to talk about? Didn’t all of you say it’s a misunderstanding and that I maligned her? Why, are you expecting me to apologize to her now?”

Lisa pursed his lips and rubbed his temple. “No.”

“Then what else is there to talk about?”

“Mom, can you let me come in first? Do we really have to talk at the door like this?”

Madam Manoban looked at him coldly for a while before making way.

Lisa entered and found a random spot to sit.

“If you’re here to speak up for your wife, then save it. I don’t want to hear it.” Madam Manoban took a seat as well.

“I wasn’t intending to speak up for her.” Lisa looked at her calmly. “She’s already good enough in my heart. It’s not in my control whether others approve of her or not.
