LUCY WAS NEARLY BEING EVICTED FROM TATUM'S BODY BY THE TIME THEY FOUND LE DOMAS. The city was beautiful, small, and had a tight-knit community. People said hi to each other on the street, and kids ran around playing, laughing. The salty smell of the sea was always in the air, mixing with the scent of freshly baked bread.

They didn't exactly have a plan for when they reached California. Driving through the winding roads, taking in the sights and sounds of the countryside until they came across some place that felt like home seemed like a good idea, but it was getting harder for Tatum to sit in the car all day, to stay at random hotels and eat mostly gas station food. She was restless.

And if Lucy decided to come before they settled, then were they just supposed to have her live the first days, weeks or months of her life without a bed, a room, a home?

No, that wasn't the life they wanted for her.

Lucy Bee was going to have a good life. A great life, actually. And as they walked through the city that first day, Ethan couldn't help but feel like they belonged there. It was as if fate had brought them to this place.

Right as they entered Le Domas, they were struck by the beauty of the place. The town was small but had an old-world charm that Ethan found irresistible. The streets were lined with quaint shops and cafes, and the people were friendly, greeting them with warm smiles and hellos. There were kids running around, laughing and playing, and the salty sea air made the town feel alive.

Ethan knew that this was the place they had been looking for.

"Isn't this perfect?" he said to Tatum, who was still unsure.

"I don't know," she replied, "It's a little too idyllic for my taste. It feels like we're in a movie."

She wanted it to be perfect for them. Needed it to be, even.

But Ethan could see the potential in the place.

They decided to spend the night at a cozy bed and breakfast in the center of town. The next day, they woke up to the sound of birds chirping and decided to take a walk around town, hand in hand.

As they strolled, they couldn't help but feel a sense of peace and tranquility, all the colorful flowers and quaint shops. Tatum slowly began to warm up to the idea of making this place their home. The town had a way of growing on you, and she could see why Ethan was so drawn to it.

That night, they had dinner at a cozy little restaurant, and Tatum finally admitted to Ethan that she was starting to like the town.

"I think we could be happy here," she said, smiling.

And Ethan knew that he had found his home. Le Domas was the kind of place where he could see himself raising a family and growing old. As they walked back to the bed and breakfast, hand in hand, he felt a sense of peace wash over him. They had stumbled upon something special, and he knew that they were going to be happy here. They were going to give Lucy the childhood she deserved.
