"No, no weapons." She said casually

"Great. On you go." The security officer said, gesturing for her to walk on.

Y/n dipped her head in a nod as she continued walking. Bucky was just behind her, and she couldn't help but smile lightly at the thought of them asking him that question. Then again, It's not their fault that they have superpowers.

Y/n lifted up her bag from the gray tray that had gone through the x-ray machine. She picked up Bucky's as well on her way past, feeling slightly impatient from having to queue for so long. Tony would lecture her on how she should have just asked him for a private jet and that he was always willing to help out. But she didn't want to pester him if she was being honest.

Bucky walked up behind her and gently took his backpack out of her grasp, tossing it over his shoulder. "Thanks, darling."

"No problem." Y/n replied with a kind smile.

The two of them began walking in the direction of their gate. Y/n furrowed her brows as a small, white robot rolled past them. It wasn't that she was amazed and confused by the technology, in fact it was the opposite. It confused her that there were robots and androids like this, ones that helped people and didn't seem to be sentient at all when she had been around Tony Stark for so long and fought Ultron.

Y/n looked up at Bucky and saw him looking down at the robot in confusion. Y/n couldn't help but laugh slightly at his expression, causing him to look down at him.

"Are you okay?" She asked him amusedly

Bucky sighed gently with a smile. "Yeah. I've fought with a talking raccoon, I don't question anything anymore."

Y/n couldn't help the loud laugh that left her lips at his comment. Bucky smiled gently at her joyful expression. He wrapped his hand around hers and the pair continued to walk towards their gate.

The engine of the rental car abruptly turned off. Y/n carefully unbuckled her seatbelt, careful to keep a tight grasp on the cake box. Bucky gently took it from her hands so she could get out of the car easier.

"Thanks, Buck." She said appreciatively.

"No problem." Bucky said as he opened up the car door and stepped out. Y/n pushed open her own car door and slid out as well. The smell of food and fire wafted through the air as soon as she stepped out. People were laughing and chatting. Music was playing softly in the background.

"Oh! There they are!" Y/n heard someone say happily as they walked along the dock towards them.

Sam's nephews faced up to them to greet them. The two boys began to play fight with Bucky. A wide smile broke out on her face as Bucky played along, pretending dramatically that he was in a fight.

"Where is everybody?" Bucky asked as He pulled off his sunglasses and placed the cake on a table. And by everybody, he probably meant Sam.

Y/n looked around the dock in search of Sam. It didn't take her long to pinpoint his location, one of the benefits of her powers. He was standing by what looked like a fridge, having a meet and greet with people who wanted to meet Captain America. Y/n smiled gently as people shook his hand excitedly.

She tapped Bucky on the shoulder to get his attention. "Buck. He's over there."

Bucky looked over at where she had gestured and smiled when he saw Sam. He walked over to him and embraced him in a brief hug. Y/n walked over as well.

"Hey, Cap." Y/n said fondly.

"Hey, hot shot." Sam said with a bright grin. He wrapped his arms around her and brought her in for a tight hug.

"I'll be with you in a minute, I just gotta finish up here." Sam told them

"Okay." Y/n said with a smile. She and Bucky turned away as Sam went back to meeting people.

Bucky and Y/n walked over to Sarah and her two sons, they were sitting at a bench having food. Y/n tentatively took a seat on the wooden bench and Bucky sat down beside her.

She smiled as she listened to the joyful chatter of the people around her. Her chest filled with joy as she gently held Bucky's hand. She wanted to fully embrace this happy moment, because it wasn't often that she got one. A day where she could just enjoy life and be herself. Not a superhero or an avenger. Just a girl, enjoying a warm day with the man she loves.

Bucky gently let go of her hand and stood up, it was then that she realised that she had completely zoned out. She watched in slight confusion as Bucky propped his leg up on the bench and held his arm out. Sam's nephews grabbed onto his arm and began to dangle from it. I couldn't help but laugh at the sight, Bucky didn't look bothered in the slightest.

The sun was setting over the ocean. Casting the sky in a beautiful pale orange. The colour of the sky was reflected in the ocean. Y/n's eyes were soft as she stared out at the stunning view. Her hand was wrapped around Bucky's and she doesn't think she's been this happy in a long time.

Sam approached the couple from behind and gently tapped Bucky on the shoulder. Y/n glanced over at the two of them as they smiled at one another. She gently smiled as well and looked out over the water again. She doesn't know what will happen next. When there next mission will be, or what life will bring them. But as long as she had Bucky by her side, everything would work out just fine.
