I hope you wonderful readers enjoy 🧡 also enjoy the screenie of someone.. yeah idk if I should be offend by what they said to me 😂 but I found it funny, it was a clip of the "British cheez-innits" And don't question why mummy is infront of my name 💀 we don't talk about that. We don't..

A small boy with heterochromia eyes walked with his hand in his mother's, they were going to pick out a puppy after the small boy had begged his parents for years, he was six years old and very responsible.

They arrived at the place selling the puppies, it was a fairly large pet shop that had puppies for sale, now you may think oh? Mill pups? No no, they were in good condition, no health problems. The store had done this every few years and today was the day they did it again, today they had some new arrivals, German Shepard's, golden retrievers etc etc, the two entered the store and their ears were met with puppies crying and calling out.

People had already surrounded some, a few around the German Shepard's and others spread out the rest, they looked over each trying to find one that Jaren wanted.

After two hours of cuddling each of the puppies they arrived at the German Shepard's, Jaren gushed over them all trying to figure out which he wanted till a small golden lump in the corner caught his eye, it was so tiny, tinier than the rest of the puppies.

"Mommy why's that one so small?" The small boy asked, hoping his mom had the answers, before she spoke an employee supervising the whole thing spoke up, "He's known as a runt, smaller than the rest of his litter brothers and sisters, he won't grow much and normally runts come with health conditions." The woman smiled warmly, Jarens eyes grew wide.

Slowly Jaren got up and walked over to the small lump of fur, he sat down beside the sleeping boy and gently stroked him causing him to jump slightly at the sudden touch, soft teal-grey eyes looked up at the boys brown eyes.

Few hours went by and most of the puppies had been adopted, few people stared down at the small golden ball of fur but turned their noses up at him, nobody wanted a runt.

Apart from one person, Jaren wanted him.

And though his mom didn't really want the small thing but Jaren was consistent with his choice plus you rarely see a golden German Shepard, so she gave in and they left the place with the boys new companion.

He named him John.

They grew up together and Johns small size increased too, he out grew the size the vet said he'd only get to, he was fairly larger than most German Shepard's, but he was the most loyal dog ever, he protected his human companion with all he had, barked excitedly when he'd arrive after going to the toilet for about ten minutes.

~*Ten years later*~

The life expectancy of a German Shepard is
9 - 13 years, John beat that by turning 16, he was old and was barely able to move anymore, Jaren knew the choices the family had to make, it hurt him so much to know his friend was gonna be put down.. they chose to do it in their home, somewhere John was familiar with and would feel more at peace to rest in.

The vet they called knocked on the door, the father went and let them in, John, Jaren and his mother were sat on the floor, John had his head on the boys lap but looked up to see the stranger and placed it back down with a sad whine.. "It's ok John.. I love you so much.. thank you for the best ten years of my life, you're such a good boy.." tears fell off the boys cheeks as he watched the vet do what they came to do, slowly John felt sleepy.
