"So class I'm going to pair you up with a partner and no complaining either"The teacher says before going on about what we need to do
"Kayla and Dustin"He says as Kayla quickly puts her head down not wanting to see anyone's reaction

"Hell no"I whisper to Kayla who now has her head up
"As I said due by Friday so get it done however you can"He finishes before the bell rings and everyone runs out the classroom as me and Kayla walk
"This is so not fair"I roll my eyes as I put my books away
"Tell me about like Dustin ew"She says
"Wow rude"Dustin says as he stops at our lockers

"Ok"She says as we walk to the cafeteria

I start walking to the cafeteria before Alex comes to my side

"The project?"He mostly says then asks

"Cool text me the info"He says before running off with Brandt
I walk into the cafeteria to hear Anna calling my name
"Hey"I say
"Hi Maya totally like ditched me do you want to like hang out or whatever"She says
"Yeah definitely"I say
"Cool so like project with Alex...and the closet"Anna says very curiously
"Oh Alex no he's not my type but he seems like yours"I say trying to cover up the awkwardness
"Omg I like do not like him at all!"She laughs "why would we be a cute couple?"
"Totally!"I smile at her
"You should like tell him that when you guys do the project or whatever"She giggles
"I'll keep that in mind"I say before the bell rings

"Bye"She mumbles before we both go our separate ways
I walk into 5th period and sit in the back where my assigned seat is
We weren't doing much but reading but I already finished the book so I guess I should text Alex right now

It was finally the end of school and I couldn't find Kayla and I hadn't see her in our last period so I'm guessing she went home or something
