Ch. 27

                                                  Steve POV 

Me and Bucky were standing outside of the room Jaylynn was resting in, The sound of a heart monitor beeping in rhythm, 

"Her brain scans are... odd." Bruce said as Tony stood next to him with a worried look, 

"What do you mean odd?" Bucky asked 

"So a normal brain scan shows a little bit of yellow red and mostly blue, Blue meaning everything is fine and operating normal, Red is swelling and not normal, Yellow is mild." Tony said 

Me and Bucky nod, 

"Her's is showing nothing but red all over the brain." Bruce said 

"What does that mean?" I asked 

"She has major swelling, But there is no evidence of bleeding," Tony said 

"How is that even possible?" Bucky asked 

"We don't know, We don't know what's causing it," Tony said 

"So what do we do?" I asked 

"We're not entirely sure, But all we do know is that it's causing her discomfort," Bruce said 

"Discomfort she was slamming her head against a wall! I think it's a bit more major than that!"Bucky said 

I put my hand on his shoulder 

He took a deep breath, 

"We're giving her medicine through a IV to keep her comfortable until we figure this out," Tony said 

We both nodded, 

"As soon as we find something we'll let the two of you know," Bruce said 

I nodded they both walked away, 

I look in the room to see her fast asleep, 

                                  Jaylynn POV 

Beep, Beep, Beep, The constant rhyme echoing through my ears as I slowly start to come back to consensus. 

My head feeling a lot better. But I know that sound! I don't like that sound! the familiar sound brings back terrifying memories!! 

My eyes shoot open looking around in a panic in the all white room, my breathing starts to become ragged as the heart monitor starts to speed up, 

I sit up about to rip the IV out of my arm when someone stops me, 

"Hey, Hey easy. Your okay, Your safe," Bucky said 

I start to shake, 

"W- Why am I here?" I said 

"You were banging your head off of a wall we needed to see what was going on, why didn't you say anything?" Steve said sitting next to Bucky 

"I.. I didn't want to go to a hospital room or lab.." I said looking around worried 

I started to panic again, 

"Hey it's okay, were not going to let anything bad happen, We promise," Bucky said 

"You can't grantee that." I said softly 

they looked at each other, 

I looked down squeezing my fists bunching up the blanket, the memories flooding back, the pain, 

I don't know who my parents really are, I do remember being in HYDRA as long as I can remember. 

They drilled into my spine as I screamed in pain until my throat was raw, extracting something from it, Some sort of blue liquid, 

Testing it, once it turned red, they put it back into my spine making just as painful as they took it out. I felt the tears running down my cheeks, my lip quivering reliving the memory. 

I looked at the both of them, 

"I just don't want to be here," I said panicking starting to take everything off, 

"Hey, Hey stop you have to stay here," Bucky said 

"What did they do to you?" Steve asked 

"Terrible, awful ,things, I just can't be here," I said 

They looked at each other,

Steve sat on the bed bringing me on his lap that my face is in his chest as I panicked, 

"Breathe focus on something," Steve said my fists squeezing his shirt, 

"We'll get to the bottom of this I promise," Steve said 

If only he knew the truth to why I hate being in this lab.
