Ch. 9 "Realization"

                                                   Jaylynn POV 

                                    Nightmare

The  very large man stood before me, I was in a training room, 

"Alright solider go," My trainer said behind me, 

I nodded 

The man charged, I ducked, 

I kicked him in the knee cap making him scream in pain, as he hunched over I grabbed him by the head and slammed his head against the wall making him fall to the ground unconscious making the ground shake, 

"Good solider," He said walking towards me, 

"Next," He said 

"But I'm tired.." I said 

Suddenly he backhanded me making me fall to the ground,

"Your done when I say your done!, and you only speak when spoken too do you understand!" He said glaring down at me, 

I held my cheek, but nodded, 

                                           End Nightmare, 

My eyes shot open, 

I looked around realizing I wasn't there anymore, that I was sleeping under the bed, 

I slowly crawl out from under the bed, looking around realizing it's still dark out, 

I held the pillow close as I walked out of the room, 

It's okay, It's okay, I thought as I walked down the abandoned halls, 

That's when I hear talking, 

"I'm telling you Bucky we need to do something," I hear Steve's voice, 

I slowly peek around the corner, 

I see Steve pacing back and forth, 

Bucky was sitting in a chair watching Steve pace back and forth, 

"You need to be patient Steve, who knows what they put her through, I mean look at how I was," Bucky said 

"Yeah I remember, but she's different then you were, she's skittish, won't talk, terrified of everything," Steve said said 

"She's just a kid Steve can you blame her, they left her in a room to die, how would you feel?" Bucky said 

My head hung low, 

I know they did, 

I started walking back to the room, 

I wasn't worth coming back for, they took what they thought was important, I thought 

Maybe...I thought then it dawned on me, 

I stopped in my tracks, 

Steve saved me, but that mean, does that mean they are not going to hurt me, 

Like I've been afraid of all this time, are they truly here to help me? 

I felt tears welling up in my eyes, 

If he hadn't.... 

I would have...

Oh raspberries I'm such a dumb dumb, I thought 

I felt my lip quivering as tears started falling down my cheeks, 

Steve saved my life...

I felt the tears falling off my cheeks and onto the floor, 

"Jaylynn?" I hear behind me, 

My head still hanging low, I was looking down at the ground, 

Steve was now in front of me, not too close because of how skittish I've been with him, 

"What's wrong?' He asked concerned, 

Then I did something I never thought I would ever do, 

I wrapped my arms around his neck ask I cried into his neck, 

I felt his arms hesitantly wrap around my small body, 

                                         Steve POV 

To say I was a bit shocked was a understatement, Jaylynn cried as she held onto me, I was on my knees hold her closed,

I wrapped one arm around her small body as I petted her hair, 

"It's okay.." I whispered 

I looked up at Bucky with concern,
