*April Thorne*

I gasp as I see a girl, probably the same age as me, glaring in my direction. I quickly pull away from Blake and shove my glasses back onto my face.

"No! You're not interrupting anything!" I blurt out.

"Actually, yes you are Lauren, so if you could just leave that would be great," Blake says.

I realise how much hatred is really behind those words. I look up at him, but his glare is focused on the girl standing across from us. Lauren just rolls her eyes and smiles.

"Naw, Blakey!" she shrieks, rather loudly. "I missed you so much babe!"

She practically lunges at Blake and presses her lips to his passionately. To my surprise, he seems to kiss her back. I flush and spin on my heel, rushing from the sight of Lauren sucking Blake's lips off his face. Well the tiny crush I had, just vanished.

I remember Blake holding my books in his hands. I swear under my breath and make my way back to the courtyard. I sneak behind the flower bush and peek through the leaves. I can only see two pairs of legs but I can see my books on the floor. I can't get to them without Lauren and Blake seeing me. I guess I'm going to have to wait.

They are talking quietly but I can still hear them. I can't help but listen in on their conversation.

"Babe, you can't seriously still be mad! Come on! It happened a year ago," I heard Lauren whining like a three year old.

"Of course I'm still mad! You betray me!"

"I did not! I loved you then and I love you now,"

"Oh really? Did you love me when you were in bed with my best friend?"

"Ugh, Blake! Just shut up and kiss me,"

"No, we're done here. I need to go find April and apologise,"

"Who? That little nerd," I heard Lauren giggling. I just rolled my eyes and scoffed. I shift a little beneath the bush so that I can see Blake's face. My foot gets caught under a root and I squeal as I fall through the bush and land on the cement floor.

I gaze up at Blake, who is obviously trying to fight back a chuckle. Lauren just snorts unattractively.

"Ow," I groan, rubbing my head. Blake steps towards me and wraps one of his arms under my knees and the other is supporting my back. He is holding me bridal style. I can feel heat creeping up cheeks as he places me on my feet. Lauren looks from me to Blake and back. She squeals and then stomps her foot on the ground. Staring at me, she flicks her hair over her shoulder and sashays away.

I clear my throat awkwardly and turn to Blake. I bend down and pick up my books swiftly.

"Well... I, um... I have to go!" I blurt and rush out of the courtyard.

I hear Blake calling out from behind me.

"Wait! April I need to-," But I burst through the door and rush to my first period.

After the longest day in the history of the world of trying to avoid the new guy, I finally make my way towards my locker. I twist in the combo and pull the door open. A small envelope falls out from behind my bag. I tear the top and find a party invite. I never get invited to parties. I wonder why this is in my locker. I shove it in my back pocket and sling my bag over my shoulder.

Hazel texted me, that I'm going have to wait at the car for her, because she got a fifteen minute detention for being late to homeroom. I tuck a lock of hair behind my ear and walk swiftly through the halls, dodging girls spraying their perfume and guys shoving each other. When I get through the door, I walk towards the bottom car park. I stop short when my eyes lock on what is on the car. Or should I say who...
