I never told you what i do for a living is another one of my favs :). This song is the end of the story for some people but FOR ME.... ITS NOT >:). This song starts out with the male demo lover having killed 999 people and he only has one more person left to kill but he doesnt really know who. Verse one is him kind of preparing himself for when him and his lover reunite, "you can say a prayer if you need, or just get in line and ill grieve you, can i meet you alone? Another night and ill see you, another night and ill be you". Then in the pre-chorus hes like "waiiiit idk if shell like me cuz im a little bit of a murderer now..." but not in a panicked omg shes gonna hate me way just in like a ohh yeaaa kind of way if yknow what i mean? Example: "another knife in my hands, a stain that never comes off the sheets, clean me off, im so dirty babe!", he sortof thinks that being able to see his lover again will resolve all his built up guilt from killing all those people but idk well see (this is where i stopped watching the video 2 days ago( yes this has taken two days) so know its all just based upon what i agree with theo about so your welcome). Honestly i dont think hes doing anything wrong killing all these people granted the 1000 men are all evil except for the suprise wedding reception and the nun lmao. We can then see how he feels about the people he has killed in the chorus, " i keep a book of the names and those only go so far, til you bury them so deep and down we go". He doesnt really value these people when their alive he only cares about them when their dead so until there bye bye he dont give a fuak, like theo said it seems like hes faking about the part where he "doesnt wanna kill them even though he has to" thing so maybe hes just a chill guy we dont know orrr hes trying to seem less crazy so when he meets his lover again shell be like "wow youll do anything for me but in a romantic kinda way". With the lyrics "touched by angels, though i fall out of grace, i did it all so maybe id live this everyday" we can see he knows what hes doing is wrong but at this point hes just gotten so hyper and really into it he just does even care anymore. Now we get the major moment that flips this whole story back on its ass: the twist. First off id like to say i did check the genius website and theo was right about the part where the twist doesnt even connect with the rest of the story and they were so right about that bc i would have never guessed what is gonna happen next from i never told what i did for a living. Like the lyrics dont even relate to it at all like i had a pretty okay time reading the lyrics in the previous songs and following along with theos video but like gerard wtf is this nobody would have ever known thats what that meant 😀 seriously gee what the hell. lyrics:

Sorry thats so long but i would have thought he just got super aggravated about not finding the last person and then went on another murder spree and then killed himself like cmon now. Anyways people say this happened during the breakdown of when gerard like explained everything but it didnt 😀 this is the part that he didnt talk about like at all ever he literally like never said anything about this (edit from later on: he did. Im dumb, turns out he did say it but who cares i would have never known). Okay okay ill tell you the twist is in the part where he says "and down we go x3, and we all fall down, i tried! I tried!", something happened but what was it you may ask??? Well, the devil comes up to earth and the male lover still doesnt know who the last person he has to kill is. The devil reveals that the last person he needs dead is himself, the male demolition lover has to suffer the same fate all the other 999 souls did. I can kind of see how theo manages to interpret the "down we go" part with his soul also being sucked into the fate his is, but overall i would have never guessed that if it was me seeing this storyline for the first time ever.
