It was late in the night, when I woke up and scrunched my nose. I smelled terrible.. I silently got up without waking Steve, and went to the door. I slowly opened it, and I was greeted with no mobs. The only mobs I heard were ones in the distance getting killed ruthlessly by the large, supernatural beings of life that protected this village; the Iron golems. I went to the chest we had placed in the corner of the house, and pulled out a wool-woven towel.
The nicest thing about this village was that it had a zen garden with a bathing pool. I smiled at the calmness of the scene.
The moon glowed gorgeously against the cool, still water. Woven rags, sponges, and herbal soap sat in a cute basket on the side of the pond. I set my towel down, and took a deep breath of the calm, crisp night air. Nothing but crickets, the golems stomping around and the wind could be heard. Peeling my large, way-to-oversized sweater over my shoulders. I neatly folded it, and set it down next to my towel, peeling off my underwear and setting it next to the sweater. I shivered just slightly at the cool air, but eagerly stepped my feet into the pool. Chunks of red-hot magma were found on the interior of the pool, but not in places where I could step on them and injure myself. I sank my body into the warm, clear water and sighed in relaxation. Smiling, I let my muscles relax for a moment before reaching for the small basket. I chose a cloth, and rubbed the bar of what seemed to be lavender and cherry blossom herbal soap onto the cloth after dipping it in the water.
I stood up from my soaking position, and began to clean myself. So calm.. so peaceful. I closed my eyes and washed the nape of my neck with the cloth. "Hmm..mm.." I hummed softly, stretching my arm to wash it with the cloth, I felt warm, rough hands snake around my tummy. I grinned but kept my eyes closed, giggling quietly. "Steve?" I said softly, the only response I got was the hands on my tummy drumming their fingers, and the tickling sensation of brown, messy hair against my cheek as warm breath met my neck.
I reached my hand up, dragging my nails into the scalp full of brown, ragged messy hair and gripping softly and biting my lip. I finally opened my eyes, and turned my head slightly. He lifted his head from my neck, and that's when I met his eyes.
I gasped, my heart skipping several beats before racing, my head spinning immediately and I choked on a shriek, unable to make any noise. I shoved from his grip and stumbled back into the pool, slipping on one of the algae-covered rocks below, and plunging into the water. I hadn't held my breath, and as I fell back into the water, I hit my head. Hard.
The last thing I saw below the rippling water were glowing white eyes. Brighter than the moon. Brighter than any sea lantern. Glowing, fluorescent white eyes. Staring at me.
