"So...what do you think?" Colby asked as I shrugged. "I think I need to go talk to Jenna." I said as he shook his head.

"Not tonight. You can talk to her in the morning." He said then led me towards the bed.

"I just don't think it's a good idea. Even if we didn't have the background we do, two fourteen year olds alone in public sounds like a bad idea." I said with a sigh.

"C'mon Jules. When was your first date?" Colby asked as he sat next to me.

"Uhh..do you count when you took me to dinner after dress shopping with Sam, Kat, and Stas?" I asked causing him to chuckle.

"You really never went on any dates?" He asked and took his shirt off so he could get into bed with me.

"I don't think you really realize how quickly I had to grow up." I said with a sigh, getting under the covers.

"So tell me." He said and laid back, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me into him.

"I mean you know most of the story. Dad was off doing gang shit, mom was doing nothing. I got a job as soon as I possibly could, then helped raise the kids." I said with a sigh.

"I didn't have time for anything but work, school, and chores. That's partially why I never tried to escape when you kidnapped me." I said with a laugh. "That's why?" He asked as I nodded.

"Surprisingly being held hostage felt more comfortable than being home." I said with a shrug.

"I obviously missed the kids but living with my mom felt more like prison than being held captive by you." I explained.

"I never wanted to make you stay." Colby said as I laid my head on his chest.

"I was pissed off that the guys were so stupid and careless. I was pissed we had to take you along not because I cared about you but because I knew you didn't deserve it." He explained.

"Then you slowly made your way into my heart and there was really no going back." He said then kissed my head.

"And now here we are...living as normal of a life as we possibly can." I said and looked up at him.

"You are. I have no idea what the hell I'm doing." He said with a laugh. "You'll figure it out, babe. You always do." I said then kissed his jawline.

"The most normal thing you can do is take Jenna to her date and secretly sit in the back of the theatre and make sure nobody kills or takes her." I said causing him to laugh.

"I'm not doing that, Jules." He said causing me to frown. "Please?" I asked and pouted my lip out.

"Cute, but no. Think about how you would feel if your older sister's boyfriend stalked you own your first date." He said as I pursed my lips.

"You were there on my first date and I think it went well." I said he chuckled.

"I'll take her to the date, but I'm not spying on her." He said as I nodded. "It just scares me." I said quietly.

"I know it does, Jules. It's understandable that it does but we can't live in fear." He said as I nodded.

"You're right..." I whispered as he cupped my chin, forcing me to look at him. "You'll feel better after it goes well. Just gotta rip the bandaid off." He said as I nodded.

"Yeah." I said quietly then rested my head on his chest again. "I'm proud of you either way." He whispered then kissed my head again. "I love you." I whispered and closed my eyes.

"I love you too, sweetheart. I'll see you in the morning." He said with a yawn. "Goodnight." I said then let myself relax into him.

It felt like I was asleep for only a couple of minutes before my alarm was going off.
