DEXTER (O.S.) --Zed! Zed! ZED!
[--Zed WHIPS OFF his headphones--]
HYDRO: Yeah?!--
DEXTER (O.S.): Are you finished packing for school?
HYDRO: Yeah! Just putting my notebooks and school supplies on my bag!
[Reveal his EMPTY BAG. He is NOT PACKED. He's been AVOIDING IT.]
HAZEL: Anak! Bilisan mo!
[--He FLIES around the room, tossing VARIOUS ITEMS into the suitcase, throwing on a WHITE UNIFORM JACKET, the camera catching other childhood details-- ]
DEXTER (O.S.): C'mon, you a grown man now! Let's show these teachers that. Let's go!
HAZEL (O.S.): --Zed!
[INT. HYDROS' APARTMENT - LIVING ROOM]
[BAM! The door flies open. FAST-PACED, Hydro enters the living room, where his parents get ready for the day.]
HYDRO: Mom! Where's my phone
HAZEL: Hindi ko alam?
HYDRO: Bakit naman ma?
DEXTER: --If you want me to drive you we gotta go now--
HYDRO: (edging away) --No Dad, I'll take the tricycle!--
DEXTER: Personal chauffeur going once- -
HYDRO: (continuing) --It's ok--
HAZEL: Ay Maria, This baby drives me crazy!
[Hydro grabs food. Mom and dad frantically cross behind him.]
HAZEL (CONT'D): (impatient) Zed, gotta go!
HYDRO: IN A MINUTE--
[EXT. STOOP - MORNING]
[Hazel SMOTHERS an embarrassed Hydro with kisses. Hydro rolls his eyes, hates it/loves it.]
HYDRO: Mom. I gotta go...
HAZEL: (kissing him) In a minute...
[Hydro rolls his bag down the steps as his mom calls out:]
HAZEL (CONT'D): Papá! Llamame! See you in 1 Month!
HYDRO: Okay, mami. I will!
[Hydro gets into the car. The POLICE CAR moves through the neighborhood. Miles is in the back seat. The car drives up right under the Tungkil Bridge, to a school overlooking Minglanilla, which LOOMS across the water. Hydro gets out of the car and opens the front door to get his bag Jefferson staring through his rearview mirror--]
