Annie patted the empty spot next to her

Annie: Take a seat

He took the spot next to her and pulled his knees to his chest

Annie: I realized I haven't thank you yet. For talking to me for so many years. Thank you.

Armin: Oh...

Annie: It was so lonely, I feel like I was gonna lose my mind. The only joy I had was listening to Y/n, Hitch and you

Armin: Annie...

Annie: But why keep talking to a rock that couldn't even give any response? Even Y/n, who couldn't keep her mouth closed around me...stopped talking...

Armin: Uh...

Annie: Armin, tell me...What happened to her? Is it because of what I did...that Y/n turned out this way?

Armin: Well... It's not just that... It's because...of us

Annie raised an eyebrow in confusion

Annie: Why...? What did you do to her?

Armin: The past shifters of her titan...have been haunting her for a long time now. They've been tearing away at her, right in front of us and we...

He shielded his face from her to hide his tears

Armin: Even now, I'm sitting up here with you instead of being by her side

Annie: Why?

Armin: I don't...it's Bertolt

Annie: Bertolt...?

Armin: He had feelings for you before...feelings that have influenced the way I see you. Hitch even hit me for not realizing sooner and when Y/n confronted me, I failed to reassure her

Annie: Just... what are we doing? Right when hundreds of millions of people are being trampled all around the world...and we're...

Annie dug her head in arms, tears threatening to spill from her eyes

Annie: I see. You're a good person, that's why you kept talking to an enemy like me. Just like how you refused to give up on trying to reason with Eren. It was to avoid conflict... with a terrible monster who might wake up at any time like me. Right?

She stood up and tried to leave but Armin grabbed her wrists

Armin: Sit down

His grip on her wrists tightened

Armin: Also, I've told you this before, but...I really do hate the phrase "good person." I've killed a lot of people. Including civilians... as well as children...and now... I've made the choice to betray my homeland and my own people. I've killed my comrades. I'm already a monster too.

He let go of her wrists and pulled his knees closer to his chest as Annie slid back down beside him

Armin: Somewhere in my head I imagined... that Eren and I promised that someday we'd travel the unknown world. I thought it would come true.

Annie: But the unknown world isn't that good, isn't it?

Armin: Yeah. It was nothing like the world we dreamt of

Armin: But... I want to believe... there is still "another side of the wall" that we know nothing of... somewhere out there. It's quiet

Later that night you arrived in Odiha finding that it was long abandoned by it's people, you left Yelena in her room and went outside where the others were tending to the flying boat
