"Kendall?"

He rolled his eyes. "And all of our positive energy."

The other three Knights joined him in raising their arms, wiggling their fingers in Logan's direction as they repeated: "Positive energy."

Kendall nudged Bitters. He reluctantly joined them. Despite the help from the six of them, Logan still felt that something was missing.

"Okay," he said. "I need more positive energy. Where's James?"

All eyes turned to the front door as it opened. It was James, but he looked anything but positive. Although they continued to send positive energy at first, it soon died down as the group caught the look on his face.

Shock was written all over it. He didn't return the gesture, despite what they had agreed on. He held his hands limply at his sides, except for the folded poster he had in one hand.

Sadly, he informed them. "Lucy left for a European tour."

He unfolded the poster to show them. Lucy Stone's European Tour would take her to more cities than Big Time Rush's last tour: Munich, Nice, Paris, London, Madrid, Barcelona, Vienna, Dublin, and more.

Looking up from the poster, he added, "She really won't be mine."

Logan's eyes widened. He glanced around, feeling the mood in the room shift. It felt as if he could hear the familiar riff from "Big Time Rush" playing in the background. He turned back to James, gritting his teeth.

"No," he said. "No 'uh-ohs.' Positive energy! Positive energy. Positive..."

He began to send some to himself, ignoring the concerned glances sent his way.

What was supposed to be a morning preparing Logan for his exam turned into James sulking at the kitchen table. The others stood at the end of it, watching him stare longingly at the poster. Kit scrunched her face up as he began to stroke it.

"Fine," said Logan. "I'll take the test without his energy."

Bitters turned his head, "You're gonna fail."

"Rude," said Logan. "And I won't, because I have not only Kit's good luck kiss, but Carlos."

Kit knit her eyebrows at his choice of phrase. Carlos turned to Logan, also confused.

"Wait," he said. "Why do I have to take the test?"

Logan leaned in, adding. "Don't question the smart one, okay?"

Kit called after him, "Good luck!"

Logan grabbed Carlos by the sleeve and led him out of the apartment.

Mrs. Knight brought James his mug of hot chocolate, filled with marshmallows. She placed a reassuring hand to his shoulder.

"And my car needs a smog test."

She patted James's head.

"But first," said Katie. "Drop me off at Rocque Records."

"You got it."

Mama Knight took her purse from the back of a chair and led Katie out of the apartment. Bitters reached a hand to point at James, "Good luck with that."

He then opened his blazer again and grinned, silently asking Kendall for an autograph. Taking the Sharpie, Kendall quickly signed it so Bitters would leave. He did so with a smile and a short, "Thanks."

James didn't let up his pouting. Kit and Kendall shared a knowing look. They turned back to their friend. He let out a pathetic sigh. Kit approached him and sat in the seat beside him.
