I stood there, my heart beating loudly like a humming bird trying to get out of its cage.

This seriously can't be happening.

His blue eyes, looking back at my brown ones, piercing thru my skin-piercing a hole thru me.

He had emotion as he look at me as I was confused and worried.

"Wha-what are you d-doing here?" I started.

"What can I do for you?" He exclaimed, no tone of annoyance, shock nor surprise in his voice.

I suddenly felt something hot and furry scramble on my arms, only to notice Muffincake squirming away from my grip.

"Uh my cat..he uh-ingested something he shouldn't have." I stammered.

He immediately went out of the counter, stooping down, fitting himself towards the small door under it.

"Oh gosh!" He muttered lowly that it was almost so quiet to hear. "I need Doctor Colton for this, give him to me-" He gently grabs Muffincake away from me.

"Please help him-" I can feel my lips tremble,

He gave me a sad smile before walking away, Muffincake carefully being cradled by his huge hands.

I sat on one of the chairs in the waiting room, quietly thinking to myself. I felt my phone vibrate inside my pocket.

Jay: Any news?

Jay: How's ur cat?

Me: He's fine...I hope. I'm not sure.

Jay: Where are u? I'll come be with you

Me: At the vets, 4 blocks away from our house.

Jay: Yeah, k. I know where that is..I'll be there in 5!

I sighed as I close my phone's messaging app, I can feel my tears starting to form in my eyes, I can't deny that I feel like I am going to cry.

I silently prayed to God as I sat alone in the cold, uncomfortable chair on the waiting room.

I was in the middle of praying when I felt cold hands on my shoulder.

"Hey, you okay?" His accent and voice really husky.

I just nodded, not trusting my voice, afraid it might crack. I didn't want to look weak in front of him. We're not even that close for him to see my cry.

"I'll be okay. How is he?" I asked, avoiding the topic about feelings..

"Doctor Colton is already taking a look at your cat, we will do everything to keep him safe. You don't need to worry anymore." He gave me a reassuring smile that was a little hard for me to reciprocate.

I was about to ask him a few more questions regarding what he knows about what is going to happen when suddenly a loud bang coming from the glass doors of the vets' clinic.

"Oh my god where is he? where is he?" Jordan kept shaking my shoulders like a mad man, "Where is he? is he going to be okay?" He asked, voice frantic and making a scene.

"Jordan! Stop-" I whined, "You're so dramatic, you don't even like my cat! Get a grip!" I added.

He chuckled, nervously " What are you saying?" He smiled but the words were gritted thru his teeth, his eyes moving towards Luke's side trying to tell me something.

I raise my eyebrows, really not getting it but then it click, "Oh..oh!" I exclaimed, "Yeah, uh-he's being taken care off, I hope he's going to be fine." I mumbled,
