My legs took me to another section of the building, one that had a desk along with several monitors hooked up to the wall, each of them with different mugshots of criminals in the area. I focus on one screen to see a man sitting in the middle of a white room, strapped to a chair. This man was All for One, and any minute now, Ground Zero should be walking in.
Rubbing the bridge of my nose, I can only hope we get what we need.
Please.
Please have something useful.
Rumi's POV
"Nevermind." He turns back around as I call out his name.
"Alecto." He makes no movement to acknowledge me and walks away. I try walk after him, but he gets lost in the crowd, away from my line of sight.
"Dammit!" Smacking my palm against my forehead, his words ring out through my head. "Why did you have to ask that of all things?" I whine as I lost him.
'He was closer than a sidekick.'
The way his eyes softened as he said it, it was heartbreaking. The moment he said it, I was ready to throw away who he was and just hold him right there. Uncaring of our surroundings.
'He was... he felt like...'
The way his voice broke told me everything I needed to hear.
Alecto lost him.
Once again my heart was reaching out to him. Something inside me was screaming at me to comfort him. My cheeks heat up at the realisation, causing me to gently grab my ears and cover my face with them.
I'm an idiot.
Bakugo's POV
"You're all set to go in."
Giving a nod to the guard, I walk into the plain room. Nothing but white filling the walls. My eyes dart to the camera's instinctively before focusing on the man ahead of me, a thick pane of glass separating us.
Aizawa's footsteps were following close behind me as I took a seat.
"Now this is rare." The man had a wide smirk. "Two heroes visiting dear old me." I stare blankly at him as I remember what he's done. "And if it isn't the members of class 1A, this sure is nostalgic." Aizawa lets out a grunt as he spoke.
"Quiet All for One." Aizawa's eyes harden into a glare. The man in question simply lets out a chuckle.
"Why so angry. Is it because of what I did to your dear old friend Obaro." His smirk widens. "He was a resilient one. But I'm the end, they all fall." I place my hand on Aizawas shoulder in hopes of calming him down.
"There's no use in trying to rile us up. You haven't got anyone outside of this place." Keeping a calm head, I try to defuse the situation.
"Oh I know that already. You see, I had a mental connection with Shigiraki. So when I felt the connection disappear, I knew my plan had failed." He lets out a playful sigh. "Would it be alright if I asked you how he failed? Let me guess. That man, Izuku, killed him." I nod slightly. "You know, I would like to meet him again. While I may hate him for destroying my plan, he had power. And without a quirk as well, truly amazing." My eyes widen slightly at the sincerity in his voice.
"Sadly, that won't be happening anytime soon." My voice speaks through the glass to him. "When Shigiraki died, Izuku collapsed a building on both of them. They both died that day." His head seems to hang for a moment.
"That's a shame." My eyes narrow again, surprised at his sincerity. "It would've been interesting to meet him outside of the battlefield. While he may have been against me, he has my respect. What I would've given to have had him instead of Tomura." Aizawa lets out a sigh.
