And also, Michiko was hoping that they could dive into a bit of a deeper conversation (which was, in fact, the conversation she really wanted to have with him)...And she could try to see how he truly felt about her once and for all to put any doubts in her mind to rest. (And, by extension, hopefully get the twins to leave him alone as well.)

After all, it wasn't a well-kept secret or anything; Most of the people around the school were well aware of this particular fact since middle school: but Michiko did, indeed, harbor quite strong feelings for the 'baseball king', and for the longest time, up until recently, she believed that there might have been a chance that he felt the same way toward her as well.

However, in spite of this small hope, no matter how hard she tried to pursue something further than friendship with him, there was just something about his demeanor that she couldn't seem to crack. He always seemed to have some kind of defensive front up and was off putting any time she (playfully) suggested going out on a date or something. And anytime she succeeded in actually getting a 'yes' from him, he was very adamant to make sure that she knew full well that it was nothing more than two friends hanging out, and that nothing would come of it. (Something she would laugh off, but be secretly burnt about).

In time, Michiko began to get the feeling that he might have actually been already committed to someone, but just didn't want to say anything. Anytime she asked him about it, however, he would dodge the question and merely state that the only love he had in the world was baseball and that was going to be his one and only focus for the foreseeable future. And given the fact that she almost always saw him either in the workout room, having a bullpen session, or in the batting cages, She had no reason to believe that he was telling anything other than the truth.

But everything changed, when the quintuplets attacked...

...Or rather, tranferred schools.

Yes, indeed. Just about a month and a half ago, 5 identical, insanely beautiful, and insanely attractive sisters transferred to Asahiyama High. At first, Michiko paid them no mind, considering them to just be just another group of your basic, run-of-the-mill transfer students who just happened to be a rare set of quintuplets.

However, based on how much Y/N's demeanor changed upon their arrival, Michiko soon begin to suspect that these girls were far more than 'basic' or "run-of-the-mill", and eventually, her suspicions were confirmed when she noticed that she would always see at least one of the quintuplets by Y/N's side at any given moment. And to make matters even more frustrating, due to the fact that she couldn't tell them apart, Michiko had no idea whether it was a different quintuplet each time, or the same one.

Regardless though, Michiko wouldn't go as far to say that they were a 'thorn in her side' or anything. She had, after all, met Y/N in middle school, and even back then, he was already an amazing person who was great at getting to know people and being there for them. So it would only make sense that he would've had some kind of 'childhood friends' before she had met him, right?

And even she had to admit that their reunion was actually quite an endearing story and part of her considered trying to get to know the quints so she could be a mutual friend between them and Y/N. But she couldn't bring her self to do so, due to a lingering feeling of hurt, resentment, and feeling somewhat neglected ever since they showed up.

After all, she had considered herself to be Y/N's number 1 'BFF' since they were both in middle school and the person who was closest to him that wasn't named 'Fuutarou Uesugi". Whether it was hanging out in the weight room together, swimming laps in the pool, or even playing each other sports for shits and giggles, there was no mistaking that she and Y/N had quite a connection and Michiko truly felt like, at one point, that there was a chance that it could have become something more.
