As quickly as we gathered back into our fighting position the rouges emerged again from the woods. Only this time they didn't move in as if they were preparing for a fight. Instead they casually strolled through the woods to the small clearing as if they were just out for a leisurely walk.
"Well this is interesting. What do you want do Alpha Knox?" Kai asked.
"I don't know, but stay tight until we do know. Like I said they're not alone." he said.
As if on cue a small hooded figure slowly appeared in the midst of the rouges as they sat on their haunches staring at us. The air around us began to crackle with electricity. My nose twitched at thick smell of sillver and something else I didn't recognize.
"It's a witch." Knox growled.
We all took a defensive stance as the small figure stepped closer. She raised her hand and bright green light shot out from it. Before we could register what was happening a loud crackle pierced through our ears deafening us as an invisible weight boar down on our bodies forcing us to the ground. I heard my pack mates release howls of pain as I let out a defiant snarl to the witch and her magic. I'd made up my mind that when I regained control of my body I was going to tear her black little hear out.
The witch walked closer to us now, knowing that we couldn't move. She had a sickening smile of satisfaction plastered on her face as she approached Knox. I forced my eyes under the heavy weight of the invisible force to look to my left, at Knox. I tried to mind link him, but whatever magic she had used on us had also suppressed out connection.
She stood directly infront of Knox. Smiling at him as if they were friends that had known each other for a lifetime. Then she slowly raised her hand again, this time pointing at Knox. With a small flick upwards of her finger I watched her lift him into thr air. He hung there unable to move, suspended above the ground.
Suddenly the air began to shift. The crackle of electricity that hung lightly in the air became much thicker and heavier. I could see the shadow of clouds on the ground as they quickly moved in on us.
The witch began to chant in a language I didn't understand. The rouges that sat behind her had a look of fear in their eyes. The same fear I knew that shown in my own.
A loud crack of thunder struck and the ground shook. A chorus of howls and whines left each of my pack mates, except for Knox. He had a look od defiance on his face. The look of an Alpha that was unbreakable. He didn't even flinch. As his Beta I admired him for it, as his friend I feared for him.
The witch opened both of her hands and raised them upward as the same green light shot out and wrapped around the Alpha. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before saying:
" From the tip of the nose to the tail that runs down the back, let every bone twist and crack. Let the Alpha feel the wrath that comes with choosing a different path. May he sleep until someone breaks my curse, unless Hells hounds take him first. "
A viscious growl left my body as I watched the green tendrils wrap tighter and tighter around my Alpha, my best friend. I could see his life fading with every squeeze, but he never made a sound. He starred the old woman directly in her eyes until his finally closed.
When she released him he feel to ground with a loud thud. He was no longer in his wolf form. He was human. Thunder cracked over head again and tain began to fall. When the rain hit the ground a thick fog rose up and when it finally cleared the witch was gone and so were the rouges that had accompanied her.
The invisible force no longer held us as prisoners the ground. I jumped up quickly shifting to my human form as I made my way to my best friend, my Alpha. He was barely conscious as I wrapped my arms around him.
"Hold on Knox. You're going to be ok. " I soothed.
"Someone help me carry him back to the pack house" I ordered.
As we carried him back to the pack house my mind raced. I had so many years questions. But there was two things I knew for sure. One was that I would find a way to break whatever spell this was and give my best friend his life back and the Blood Wolf Pack their rightful Alpha, and two...
I would find the witch that did this and I'd tear her to pieces.
